They lose their job right? I'm pondering the Michael Vick case - I find it more troublesome because he is under contract, and his absense will drastically affect his place of work in theory. I hear talk that they would still have to pay him his $6 million contract. This doesn't make sense. From a law standpoint, if he is convicted and sent to prison, should the team have to pay his salary?? Or do his poor choices negate the contract? Why should the team pay him when he's not playing? Doesn't prison cost you your rights?

I have a question but first, the senario: My father was called away for Hurricane Katrina to help. He was told by his employer that he must use vacation time while away. We have heard of a law that states that the employee can be granted unpaid leave for volunteers. He currently resides in New Jersey and are not sure if this law is state or nation wide. My question is: Is there a law that states this?

If possible, please provide a website and ONLY answers for UNPAID not paid leave.

Do they really do this for all jobs or just some jobs? Do they have random testing after you get a job? Don't Americans feel this is a violation of their rights as individuals? What happens if you fail, do you get in legal trouble?

If they go back to jail for commiting the same crime, will the person who bailed them out get their money back if they tell the court what they know? Also, will they take the whole bond which was 10,000.00 and tell that person to pay it.

Are Senior Citizen Discounts discrimination and are they enforcable?

I feel that if there was a Baptist discount or a Asian discount or a Gay discount, there would be lawsuits everywhere. How is this different? Isn't it discrimination based on age?

I live in an area near Boston where most of the elderly are VERY well off and everyone else is struggling because the elderly bought their homes and land when it wasn't outlandishly expensive and now no one can afford to buy unless they are earning well into the six-figures.

I'm not, and feel that I need the extra 15% off at a nearby chain department store much more than they do.

Also, is this enforcable language: "discount is valid for senior citizens aged 62 or better." I am 31 and believe that is much "better" than 62.... :)

Thank you.

With alot of the issues they have, bamely drugs, the NFL has a right like all employers to randomly drugscreen their employees, but in the recent case with Michale Vick, they are taking an issue that has not been to court yet, and is not against the rules of football by what i know. If i had done something, and my work did know about it, as long as it did not interfere with work all would be fine. so is it right for them to suspend him from training camp, and is it fair for them to be police over these players lives?

I used to work for a online deal site (something like pricegrabber.com) and they made me sign a non compete agreement 3 weeks after I had already started working on my own deal site. I had to sign it at that time else he would make me quit so I kept hush about it. I since then got a new job last week. Being the paranoid jerk that he is, he hacked into my work computer and using a password recovery form was able to log into all my emails and private sites. That let him know that I had my own deal site. My old boss is threatening to sue me because I was developing something that would compete with him. What are my chances in court and will it be expensive? I am in Texas. Thanks and God bless
