When you cash a cheque, your account number is revealed in the back even though you did not give anyone your account number. The bank has failed to protect you as a customer, in case someone gave you a fradulent cheque just to get at your account number. There is the privacy act many organizations have to deal with their customers. I have worked for the government, to me it is a breach of trust.

If anything went wrong with your bank account, can you hold the bank accountable but also being noted as a Bank's error? I keep my address separate on the bank statement from my street address which goes into a postal box. I was thinking about things today, the bank is not protecting you as a customer. I have a finance background, cancelled cheques do reveal a person's bank account (signature and where it was deposited).

I currently owe a local business some money, now my question is, a Director of mine (from work) uses this same company, The company called this director at home and asked him if he knew me, when the director said yes they told him to tell me that I needed to contact the store to settle my bill.....is this legal, isn't this breaking some privacy law? It is nobody's business but mine who I owe money to? Do I have a case?

11 yrs ago my ex and I bought a mobile home. A year later, we divorced. He was awarded the house and any future debt associated with it in both the temporary and later the permanent decrees. He quickly let the house foreclose (without me even knowing about it!!). For the next 7 years, collection agencies called me trying to collect. They never got any money, and about 3 years ago, it finally dropped off my credit report. A few days ago... I got a call. It was the collection agency again!! Can they start this all over again even though it's been so long and it's already dropped off my credit score once?? I live in Washington state. If anyone knows, I'd be very grateful!

It happened with alcohol, then they decided that was a bad idea.
They did it with drugs, and they STILL think it's a good idea..
They're beginning it with cigarettes (banned indoors, certain municipalities banned all smoking unless in one's home.)
Food has it's advocates
Many people still believe in faith healing and want EVERYTHING that effects you to be banned.

Whats going on? Since when did government become an instrument of enforcing personal morality? Even medieval societies had no drug bans or protectionist measure as punitive as those we have today.
Of course that is hyperbole, but you can see what I'm saying.
Why doesn't anybody believe in FREEDOM anymore? We totally agree with ever more intrusive acts by government, just because TV news has made life so sensationalistic and hyperimportant. The majority of citizens take the excited media as truth.
It's real easy to make up a problem and offer a "solution" that ultimately empowers the powers that be.

How hard is it to prove embezzlement or prosecute? We have an ex-employee who was writing payroll checks to regular employees who didn't work those weeks and cashing them himself. We found one for sure, but must we go back through every single check for every employee and look for more or can we prosecute based on the one?

My brother needs to get a civil injunction for DMV to stop a transfer on his truck. Does he need to hire an attorney for that? He was told by DMV that he needs a restraining order to continue a courtesy stop, or the truck will belong to this guy who went to DMV WITHOUT a signed pink slip and started the transfer into his name. If the restraining order isn't filed in 2 weeks, the courtesy stop will discontinue and the transfer will go through and my brother will lose his truck.

My wife's boss since day one has degraded and harassed my wife for over a year and a half. My wife has tried to go through the proper avenues and get this solved, i.e. upper management, but to no evail. I am personally tired of his crap and I'm about to do something about it. I would just like to go and beat the **** out of him and be done with it. But instead I'd like to make his life a living hell and take everything he has, can you tell I'm a little heated. But seriuosly, he has made inappropriate jesters about her body, chest size, and figure. He has also degrated her for being a woman, saying they belong at home with kids, things of this nature. There is such a huge list of things he has done that I don't have the time or energy to type all of it. So back to my question where do I start and is it even worth the trouble? And any lawyers want to take a shot at this? We have witness to most if not all of this and this is a large corporation.

so i contact this guy who steals hundreds and hundreds of rapidshare accounts by sending fake emails/other stuff , and he offers to sell me two amazon gift certificates ($160 one and a $200 one) for the price of $140 , he ended up going first , and i got the money, and ofcourse i wasn't planning on paying him from the first place , before he gave me the certificates he showed me a part of the terms of service of amazon , and it said that they are not responsible for stolen or lost certificates , so anyway , i signed off , and am like "what did i just do?" "am i a theif?" "am i a bad guy?" , its just that online scams dont seem as bad as reallife (i would never EVER steal in real life , i am a very nice person and have never done anything even near that)
so am i a theif? am i a bad guy?

Hehasn’t yet made a sale. Perhaps Mexico just isn’t theright place to sell his company’s products.
