Are illegal immigrants not human just like everyone else. Do they not deserve the same rights. There are certain privelages that we recieve as residents of the US. And more as citizens, that illegal immigrants do not get. To a point this is how it should be. But there are situations when the goverment acts unfairly towards those who, even though they are here illegaly, deserve the same rights that everyone else gets. For example, what about those people that have grown up here, not having legal status, speak the language, have gone to school here, but can not get financial aid because of their status. They had no choice to be here, there parents brought them since they were very young. Would they not deserve the same rights. And many people will answer, that they need to get their residency, however half of these people dont know the process to which you have to submit to even be considered for residency. Its not as simple as many people think, and often times you are still forced to leave the country while your application is being considered. I hope this makes sense, if not and your really intrested in more information, ask an immigration lawyer. They will be able to help with your questions.

In my opinion... hmmm. I would say that yes they should have most of the same rights - both civil and constitutional - because they are here in this country. Wether they are here illegal or not is a different topic totally. The fact that they are here is what counts for this question. Most people here are saying no because they aren't citizens... well if someone who came here on a visitors visa - although they are here legally, they are not a citizen they are still entitled to many of the same constitutional rights. Obviously voting for example isn't a right that they have - but when a person is here, they are under the same protection and what not as everyone else.

Some constitutional rights apply to those who are here permanently and legally, such as the right to vote. You cannot vote if you're not a citizen. Other constitutional rights apply to anyone. Surely you know that an illegal can exercise their right to assemble and their right to free speech. We surely saw that a few months back when they all marched and protested.
Civil rights...I don't think many people would say that civil rights shouldn't be bestowed upon any human. They should not be discrimated against due to their race or gender. Sure, you can discriminate against them for being illegal but not because they are mexican or any other race.

No, they don't hold constitutional rights, such as voting and participating in legal stuff, but they always do have the three unalienable rights stated in our constitution; life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. They can not drive cars, (even though they do,) and can not get a credit card or bank account. Basically, they have human rights, but as far as citizen rights go, no. However, they can rent apartments for some reason.

no they do not, they are committing an illegal act by not going through the proper channels to be here. i have been at work and had people removed from the job because they were found to be illegal aliens, sorry but i can't really side with them on this. they come into this country using fake ids, many times stolen from someone who is a citizen, i have had friends who have had their social security numbers being used by someone who was illegal. my friend had a big mess trying to straighten it out because the person applied for and got credit and ran up thousands of dollars worth of merchandise before it was discovered, only to find that the person who stole her identity had moved home to Mexico, with all of the merchandise.

By definition 'illegal' indicates misconduct.
As such, illegal immigrants have no rights under US law, except as provided by local or state governments.
Technically, the term is illegal alien - a person who has essentially invaded the united states in violation of federal law.
The arguments presented by various groups trying to leverage constitutional law in favor of the illegal aliens is inherently flawed, as it denies the basic premise - illegal entry into the country.

liberals insist that our civil rights extend to everyone in the world. thats why your tax dollars go to law firms all over this country to represent terrorists in Gitmo.
Thats why a liberal justice on the us supreme court recently wrote a decision mentioning international law..which has no bearing on u.s. law.
thats why an ilegal who injures themselves crossing private proprty along the south west can sue the property owners.
Yes..aparently they have more rights than you or I.

I don't think it is "rights" per say.
It is more like "protections" that citizens are entitled to.
