I was convicted of killing a man that was tortured and burned to death. To make a long story short I was innocent. My wife has been working for 2 decades trying to prove I didn't do it. Crazy thing, she found out that he's alive and living not to far from me.
My wife says if I kill him I can't be convicted again. Is that true?

it seems like people want to overwork teachers, and parents take control of the school system. Maybe if you parent you children correctly, and not give Johnney whatever he wants, then we can live in a peaceful society. LAY OFF THE TEACHERS!!!

A group has come forward, trying to say that the federal judge who ruled that the NSA wiretapping program was illegal should never have heard the case. Their argument is that the judge is a board member for a non-profit charitable group (Community Foundation -- www.cfsem.org) that made a donation to one ACLU chapter to promote gay rights. A different chapter of the ACLU was involved as legal counsel in the warrantless wiretapping case. The group making the claim admits that the judge wasn't ever actually directly involved with the plaintiff chapter, but argues that it might create the appearance of impropriety.

So, the question: is this just a tactic to discredit the judge because she ruled against the government, or do you think this represents a sufficient actual conflict of interest that she should be retroactively removed from the case?

I have been working at the same place for almost three years. They are currently starting a new attendance system that requires all employees to punch in/out with a card and then verify the punch with their fingerprint. Is this legal? If I decline to give my fingerprint and then get canned can I sue? I do not have any thing to hide, but I feel weird handing out my fingerprint with a chance that I could be falsly accused of something, even if that is a long shot.

I'm not to sure but don't all swans that live in England belong to the queen and if you kill one, you will be given punishment of death.

I'm only asking because a couple of refugee's killed and ate a swan (because they had nothing else to eat) -'' what happened to the food stamps hey?''

I don't. It would be another freedom taken away and a little more government control over us. What's next, no listening to the radio while driving, no eating or drinking, no talking to other passengers?

A friend bought a car from a buy here pay here place that sold him a very abused car (he didn't test drive it....duh). When he went back to have them fix the car he told them it was sold as is and refused to do anything. He has since had to dump a bunch of money into the car and thus hasn't been able to make the payments. They have been trying to repo the car unsuccessfully and telling his family they are reporting the car stolen. I have been telling him this is a civil matter and they will need to take him to court. Can his credit be ruined since it's not a "real" creditor? I don't believe they checked his credit when he made the agreement to pay them back. I believe it's a shady business and my friend has a lot to learn when it comes to buying a car. All in all, what can they do to him and what can he do legally? I don't believe they should be allowed to make these threats to his family. I have suggested getting a down payment together, purchasing a new car and returning this one.

Okay, here is the deal. I got in an accident in june, my insurance raised my payments because i was, supposedly, at fault. According to my insurance they were paying medical expenses for the lady that hit me. Now i just got a letter saying that i am being sued by this lady for Medical expenses, car rental expenses, and pain and suffering. The claim is happening in a small claims court which says to decided up to $5,000 or less. She is suing me for $6,663. Do i really have to pay her the $6K+ or will it only be $5K? another thing, is there any way i can fight this to not have to pay for what she is supposedly suing me for (ex: car rental, medical expenses)? please help. THanks!

My parents, and their neighbors, have a huge problem with a neighbor who is feeding about twenty-plus un-spayed/un-neutered stray cats who have made going out into the yard impossible, between the fleas and the pungent cat waste. The landlord lives on the property and they have asked him to take care of the issue with the tenant, but aside from telling her she is not allowed to keep feeding the cats, he’s done nothing and claims that is the end of his responsibility. My parents will have to replace their roof sooner then planned because it is being ruined by the cats. In general, the cat issue has made living there quite unpleasant. We’ve gone the SPCA route, contacted the pound, but no one can offer any help. Do they have legal recourse to compel the landlord to take responsibility, financial or otherwise, for this issue?
