Does anyone know how long the Statute of Limitations is for filing a Wrongful Death or Malpractice Lawsuit in the State of Illinois?

2 years from the date of the death. Here's some information about statute of limitation in Illinois.

Not 100% sure, but in most states the statute of limitations for filing any type of tort action is two years from the date the person died or two years from the date you knew (or reasonably should have known) of the negligence or wrongful act/omission the doctors made that led to the person's death.

The only one I'm sure of is that there is no statute of limitations for murder. Have you any way to contact the local government offices, they might be able to tell you with certainty. Or, perhaps you might ask a local attorney's office.

The statue on murder is limitless, I would assume but I don't know that Wrongful death suits are the same.
