Not sure I follow your question. Family Medical Leave is for when you have to take time away from your job for a personal reasons dealing with family. (such as birth of a child) You don't get paid for it by the company, all it means is you will have a job to come back to at a comparable salary.

If you are working you are obviously not out on Family Medical Leave. You can't use it to cover part of the day that you just don't feel like working. The FMLA covers the entire day.
