i live in the state of Oregon where assisted suicide is legal, i wish i would have lived here when my mom was terminal, i watched her suffer for months, she was on straight morphine and it didn't help, i would have without a doubt let her commit suicide if she would have asked, i think that its a great law, to many people suffer while the hospitals make millions of dollars off the pain, knowing there is no hope for recovery, the longer they stay the more they make, i think assisted suicide should be up to the families not the courts or anyone else

I didn't know suicide was illegal??? What are they going to do to you, put you in jail??? If you're talking about physician assisted suicide it should be legal. We treat our pets with more dignity than we do human beings. There is nothing wrong with ending life that has NO chance of recovery and is causing massive pain and suffering not only to the victim but family and friends as well.

I believe that all personal decisions regarding a person's one life and death should be left up to that individual to decide for themself, without government regulation.
I have no problem with reasonable steps to ensure that the person is making an informed and rational decision. But in the end, the decision belongs only to the individual involved.

Legalize suicide - hmmm. You're dead so why does it matter? Suicide is never the way out either. As horrible as you feel - God has a plan for you and suicide is the dumb way out.

Ummm, yeah, it really doesn't matter cuz you'll kind of be dead so they can't arrest you, or am I missing the whole point of suicide?
