IMO, it is because of the North American Union. Why would that have anything to do with it? Because they are trying to erase our borders with Mexico and Canada.

Also, why is there a Y!A Spanish-language designated United States board in the first place? A cursory glance at the Government section reveals a majority of dialogue on that board has little to do with either the US or its major interests abroad. Additionally, there are already Mexico, Spain, and Argentina boards.

I know that in order to be eligible for citizenship you should have a total of 5 years stay in the U.S. I've been staying here for 2 years now. Lately I've been missing my family so much and been wanting to visit home. Some people say I can't leave the country until I've been here for a straight 2 1/2 yrs, others say its 3 yrs, few said I can leave anytime. Can anyone help me with immigration and naturalization rules? Thanks!

I'm talking about the nazi soldiers. They had to obey orders or be killed. Also before Hitler took power Germany was in poverty, people were poor. Hitler promised to turn it around. So by following Hitler and his orders, weren't the nazi's just trying to survive and have a better life? Does the world owe them a big apology? Opinions?

Instead of building a wall to protect the border with Mexico, wouldn’t it be easier to have a satellite equipped with thermal imaging (and all the other good stuff) send a live feed to a central command center? This way when illegals are spotted, border agents can be dispatched to intercept them. I know that it won’t work in absolutely all parts of the border but it will work in most parts of the border. Wouldn’t it also save money since border patrol can be dispatched only to where they are needed, much like firefighters or paramedics, and we won’t have agents patrolling empty parts of the desert?

From Associated Press:

A grand jury has indicted three Marshall County men on charges they ran a prostitution ring with women they brought in from other counties. U.S. Attorney Alice Martin says the three were Mexican citizens.

They are 31-year-old Miguel Leon Mora, 25-year-old Jose Fernandez-Gonzales, and 41-year-old Jose Elias Miranda-Gullien.

So, somewhere along the line someone in my family immigrated here...therefore (some) people say that I am an immigrant.

Wouldn't that make Native Americans immigrants too? If you know ANYTHING about anthropology, you would know that (while there are different theories on how they got here) they immigrated here as well.

There is the Clovis Theory stating that they came over the "land bridge" of the Bering Strait....but there are also Pre-Clovis artifacts that date prior to that...(here are some links to get you started)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon/2002/columbustrans.shtml

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clovis_culture

http://www.preclovis.com/

http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_701509129_5/First_Americans.html

So, if Native Americans are immigrants too...how are they ANY different than anyone else that is here?

OR...is this just a pick and choose the dates that you would like???

was granted a VISA coz she is a goverment employee in the Philippines (NFA) and was suppose to attend training and seminar. she did not attend any of this, instead she work as a baby sitter. My question is How can i call the attention of the US Immigration about this and not to give her again a VISA because it doest'serve the purpose or BAN her from coming back coz she is planning again of coming after four months. And if they (US immigration) granted her again they will add a new RUN AWAY on their list.

I was born here...

My parents were both born here...

My grandparents...all 4 of them were born here...

In fact all of their parent were born here....

I keep hearing that "we are all immigrants"....BUT...this is waht the definition of immigrant is...

im·mi·grant Show Spelled Pronunciation[im-i-gruhnt]

1. a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
2. an organism found in a new habitat.

–adjective
3. of or pertaining to immigrants and immigration: a department for immigrant affairs.

I'm just curious (and please don't take this as something to provoke a fight, I genuinely want to know straight answers) How many of you out there, no matter what your stance is on immigration from Mexico, legal or illegal, actually know anyone from Mexico personally? And I don't mean know them in passing, or just at work or something, REALLY know them (ie-like you would know a good friend)?
Serious answers only please, this is not a racial issue!

I've seen it alleged repeatedly by sympathetic members here that illegals "pay taxes".
HOW ?!?

They're here illegally.
They have no driver's license.
They have no social security card.
They have no passport or papers or green card.

I live in Florida and I've met many illegals, mostly in medical offices where I've worked. And if it did any good, I would report them to INS, at least the suspicion they're here illegally.

As I understand it, they can use fake identification, by borrowing a legal friend's Social security card and driver's license.
Or take some unknown living or dead person's social security number and info (i.e., identity theft).

Either one of these is a crime.

But the majority of illegals I've known, or suspected, who are here illegally simply have under-the-table jobs, in restaurants, as housekeepers, house-painting, construction, pressure-cleaning, or some other cash business, and thus pay no taxes.
So please, how do they pay taxes?

Anybody else out there who used to sympathize till you saw what they can do?

In '86, I supported the amnesty. I might have even supported it 7 or 8 years ago. I was saying the same things many of these people are saying.

I was completely unprepared for what I eventually saw. I never would have predicted public urination in broad daylight, in front of children, graffiti everywhere, trash dropped on the ground right next to trash cans, cat-calls by 30-somethings directed at pre-teen girls, prostitutes all hours, defying police to their face, cars on blocks, 16 ppl in a 1 bdrm apt?...

The worst part is, if the press had just provided objective journalism rather than taking sides, I'd have had a much more realistic view when my area got hit.

Interested in your thoughts.
