i think its funny. well, i dont support it!! i hope i already made that clear, especially to all you pro illegals! i believe in Legal immigration by following the long and hard process all legal immigrants have gone through. it doesnt matter what situation you're in or how poor you are or where you come from: we cant blame America for all the problems in other countries. all who want to legalize should get in the back of the line, and all those who refuse to go the legal way need to get deported! i also think the government needs to cut off welfare and benefits for illegals(i think that would take care of the anchor baby problem for the most part). thats my stand on this issue. many pro illegals might call me ignorant or racist, but i can expect that! i know im going to be attacked by pro illegals. ok, im up for a debate, even in Spanish!! BUT, i just want my question answered, which i already stated above.

alot of hispanics refer to themselves as "latin Americans"- does the first group have more pride in being American?

They are all immigrants?...why do some embrace this country more than others?........out of all the above mentioned countries Mexico is the worst off....yet they are least proud of the title American? without the denomination?

Can someone please explain this to me in a way that clarifies the difference?

Obviously I am the wrong "something" because I am not a Illegal Alien or a refugee...I am only married to an American (for 6 years)and have two children who are American but they are going to make me pay out the A** and run around and around the same paperwork trail for months to get anything legal done...*sigh*

Why does the border patrol deport and send my family and friends back to Mexico, when they dont even bring in any drugs or sh!t like that? Ive had friends and family that have lived here in the U.S. before without their papers, never did ANYTHING wrong. In fact, they would volunteer at shelters and nurseries in their spare time. They went back to Mexico because their parents were dying and their brother was going to be buried over there, which was all they had left of family over there. They came back on feet, crossed the river, almost made it but they got caught. Border patrol just sent them right back to where they had nothing. Why are my mexican kin and friends not allowed back in the U.S. if they havent even done anything bad?

We Americans have seen what we can do when we make our voices heard. Many of us put pressure on to stop the amnesty bill and our leaders did in fact listen.
What if we put just as much pressure on them to try and stop the corruption of the mexican government? What if both American citizens and mexican citizens put that much pressure on the mexican government itself through mass letters, phone calls etc.?
Would any of it change anything do you think?

My mother, a naturalized citizen, was told yesterday that she did not have the same rights as a US born-citizen. She has continuously lived in the US for over 30 years, paid her taxes, great employee and model citizen. She was recently a victim of fraud by a realtor and a title company when she bought a house. She sought legal representation and the lawyer she contracted is telling her that she will have limitations in her law suite because she is a naturalized citizen.

Where can I research the topic?

I was somewhere recently and heard a few people talking about how one of their friends, a woman, married a total stranger who was an illegal alien. They said that the man was an illegal from the Middle East and the woman was paid to "marry" him. They met a couple of times before the "wedding" and have never seen each other since. They went on to say now their friend has fallen in love with a man who was born a US citizen and he wants to marry her. Only problem is that she's already frauduently "married" to this illegal and doesn't know how to get out of it. It got me to thinking what options would this woman have. I'm guessing the new guy knows nothing about the illegal marriage.

She's been in contact with him and internet "dating" him for the last year. They are talking about getting married in October when he will visit her in South Africa. Do they need to petition a fiancee visa for her first, or can they get married and then petition a spousal visa. Will there be problems because they have never met in person yet?

They are really serious and very much in love. Please help. They talk every day through Yahoo messanger and see each other on the webcam. Friends of her who immigrated to the US have met him and says he's a great guy.

Let see

1-First he came to America without a visa.

2-Then their earth parents commit fraud by saying that he is American. He probable got a birth certificate with the name Clark Kent.

3-Then their parents commit a fraud again by holding a kid that was not legally adopted.

4-Clark Kent-not his real name commits fraud by getting a job with the newspaper and using a social that he get from his false birth certificate.

Is this the real reason why people are so scared of illegals? I however, am not as scared as some people on Yahoo Answers even with all these scare tactics like disease, identity theft, less jobs, and the list goes on. You see nobody has scared me with something that illegals cause, because all these problems would still be here even if all the illegals did leave. I really am not asking this question to start a debate. I really am interested in the reason why people are afraid and Im not. Is it because I Mexican/American? I cant even speak Spanish but illegals still dont bother me. So, I challenge Anti- illegals to show me the light!

They talk about fences, securing our borders, penalizing employers and so on. What about the 21 or so million illegals that are here? First of all, they are telling us that there are only 12 million. This is impossible when you do the math. There has been an overwhemling 65% growth in the last twenty years. This is propaganda by our government. Using propaganda is a technique mostly used in countries like Cuba and North Korea. The purpose is to get the people to think how you want them to think. We must not believe the lies. We must not accept anything short of FULL exportation of illegals. Watch how it becomes a real cat fight when we adamantly insist that Washington sends illegal back to whereever. . All of a sudden, La Raza will become unglued. They pretend as if they oppose all this talk about border security, not true. As long as the illegals are here, they are at peace. Little do they know what is in store down the road!!!

I do think that each culture needs its own space wherby they can practice their own beliefs and cultures without fear of "offending" someone. I am specifically referring to America. In saner days, people came to this land and assimilated. Now, their culture is forced upon Americans.

Or is it just a ploy by the media or politicians to make Americans think that the problem is lessening? It seems strange that if this story is true, that "Mexicans are increasingly giving up on the American dream and staying home" that why did politicians try so hard to pass the shamnesty bill? Why did they try to shove it down our throats? Americans were not fooled.

It really blows me away that people on here ask questions on here get asked everyday, and then its not really a question its a statement, but somewhere in there is a question. So then people answer and then then next thing you know you are getting some sort of deletion, or violation for stating facts back? Now this isn't about me!! But I have noticed more and more of this happening here. Maybe Yahoo should just get rid of answers all together? What do you think?

My girlfriend is from Australia but wants to live here in Ireland. She is currently on a working holiday visa that runs for one year. For her to remain in Ireland beyond that, one of the conditions is for us to prove we're in a 'de facto' relationship. For this, we need a joint bank account, but it may be a catch22 because I'm not sure if we can both qualify for a joint bank account because one of the parties is not a permanent UK/Irish resident. I've tried many websites but theyre not very helpful. Does anyone know if we can qualify?

First of all, I have no prejudice toward hispanics. About half the women I've dated are from Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Spain.
I almost married my girlfriend from Spain.

There are hispanics who come here and assimilate, and those who clique-ishly live pretty much exclusively within their own spanish-speaking subculture, referring contemptuously to "gringos", oblivious to the fact that these same derisively-labelled gringos have opened their country to them, and given them the same education and career opportunities as any American citizen.
They bemoan racism while choosing not to assimilate, not to learn english, or socialize with Americans. I experienced this memorably at one party I attended with my girlfriend, where I was the only native-born American there , but I was treated as if I was the alien there, and not them.

I don't know if messing with another country's policies and economics is viable. We have been successful in some endeavors but have failed miserably in others. The culture of those people must be carefully worked with before a good solution can be found.

Is it worth a try? Do the Pro's outweigh the Con's?

I know a family (a mom with a daughter and a son) who live in LA illegally. We know each other, but not close at all. I just know the mom's and her daughter's name, that they live in LA, and which school the daughter goes to. I also know her myspace. That's all.
I love this country (the US) and sometimes I feel I want to do something to help and feel the need to report them to government or to the police. We all know we need to reduce illegal immigrants. But thinking about reporting them sometimes makes me feel horrable because it sounds kinda mean. If you were me, would you report them tho? And if yes, how? And can we report this kinda thing anonimously?
