i think its funny. well, i dont support it!! i hope i already made that clear, especially to all you pro illegals! i believe in Legal immigration by following the long and hard process all legal immigrants have gone through. it doesnt matter what situation you're in or how poor you are or where you come from: we cant blame America for all the problems in other countries. all who want to legalize should get in the back of the line, and all those who refuse to go the legal way need to get deported! i also think the government needs to cut off welfare and benefits for illegals(i think that would take care of the anchor baby problem for the most part). thats my stand on this issue. many pro illegals might call me ignorant or racist, but i can expect that! i know im going to be attacked by pro illegals. ok, im up for a debate, even in Spanish!! BUT, i just want my question answered, which i already stated above.

...my other point is, since ive lived around illegals for a long time and have seen them get all the benefits all citizens and legal immigrants cant get, why should we have to keep paying for them??? im tired of paying for illegals and all their babies! why do they have so many if they "cant" support them?? hmmmmm.

WHAT A LAUGH...greysfan, way to use the race card girl!! ...and Super Chee...of course im not speaking for all hispanics, thats the whole point of this...i am speaking for a most likely minority of us LEGAL hispanics who stand on the same stone!! say all you want about me...you all know im saying the truth. its much easier to call me racist, ignorant or whatnot. like i said, i can expect all of this from pro illegals. its nothing new. at least tell me something i havent heard please!

We get a lot of that here too in the Texas area where we live. None of our friends or family members support illegal immigration. We have brains to figure out that the makes the taxpayers have to pay higher taxes. Another assumption is that we all speak Spanish, and we don't. Now in the Houston metro area we are fighting the schools wanting to teach Spanish to all the kids so that they can communicate with the illegal children. I do not like going to the grocery stores and seeing everything in both English and Spanish. That should not even be being done as this is American. You do not see Chinese written everywhere. If they are going to that for one language then it should be for all, not just Spanish. You go to Walmart and you hear Spanish announcements. We do not know what they are saying. That is not reason enough to have to learn Spanish. Don't worry about the pro illegals as there are much more like us than there are like them, thank God. My grandfather came from Mexico and would not speak Spanish to his children or grandchildren. He also had his own grocery stores and was very successful and spoke English. He was very proud to be an American.

What I get tired of is the mess they make for themselves because they come here and have anchor babies right away so they think the baby will enable them to stay, then act like it is our fault because they get deported.

Every Hispanic or other is considered illegal or for illegals based on color. This had ended in the early 80's. The Mistake, the 'Illegals' March' was an action that needed a reaction, hence this issue.
However, not all illegals are Hispanic, I myself am not hispanic, I am Mexican American(Caucasian), According to the Census Bureau. Whomever came up with Hispanic could not tell the difference and demonstrated their educated ignorance.
My Parents immigrated back when I wasn't even born. This does not make me Pro or Con, just a believer that everyone should go thru the process. I immigrated my wife thru the process-3 years & $5,000 later.
So for amnesty, go for it, however set penalties and fines (Like traffic fines). The rumored $3,000 process fee is dirt cheap & fair.
Do your math: I paid 3,000 for my 1st born, 4,000 for my 2nd. Their price for being USC. My earnings did not qualify me for assistance. Your Right, Green, it is aggravating.
As for the anchor baby, it is non existent. We the Public became complacent, allowed the wage drop, slagged thru education and reaped the benefits of cheap whatevers and enjoyed the good life: cheap gas.
I could post a list of sites that can prove just this, whats the point, you all can do the research. No One has ever made a report to OIG nor ever requested thru the opens request act to view who's on welfare.
For Amnesty, illegals can rant & rave, saying it's expensive. Yet they drive escalades, tahoes, you name it. They party like yesterday on weekends. Yeah, they earned their pay, now they can pay their keep. After all, in the end, they will qualify for IRS Refunds, so in essence it's free. We had some oppurtunites to control this, yet, we were complacent. I say we, all USC w/o regard to Ethnicity. We allowd farmers double dipping, cheap labor with subsidies and cheap manufactoring w/ subsidies. We should not blame Wal-mart for abusing the welfare to work program, sponsored by 'Clinton'. Cliche, we allowed this.

some people are just ignorant and think that since you are hispanic that you will support others who are also hispanic. I am not like that :) if it helps. I believe that if others can do it the legal way then so can they. and as for the gov't giving benefits to illegals i say WHAT THE HECK!! i went to sign up for WIC and they asked for a drivers license and a social security number, they said it was required....well how the heck are illegals getting that aid then?? UGH! it frustrates me so bad!

Hey ILove, alot of us Americans of Mex descent go through that no matter how long we have lived here, Kind of like it is assumed that we are all democrats and love welfare, etc etc.
It will always be tough for us because we live next to the country our ancestors came from, It will never be like the Italians,Irish and others that came from Europe, I don't think we will ever be fully assimilated or accepted but there are always opportunities to excel and make life better for our families and communities, Good Luck to you and the rest of our Americans of Latin Descent who have earned the right to be called Americans through our sacrifies for the USA.

Wait, don't tell me you are one of the lucky people who actually stood in line for years to get to this wonderful country and yes you made it congratulations! Whatever! The fact is and I bet there is, somewhere in your familia, someone got here illegally. Don't say no cause you know it's true! So if you don't support it that is up to you. But if it weren't for that you probably wouldn't be here. If I am wrong, then enlighten me please! Doesn't mean I will buy it! I hope that at least you do defend your raza from the racists that are on here because when they insult us, they don't really care whether we are legal or not!

Who said just because you are hispanic you support illegal immigration?? I have been around illegal immigrants my entire life too. I have friends who are here illegally. That is why I support it. Ofcourse I think the border needs to be taken care of and I think the people should stop crossing the border because its just making it harder on the people who crossed before them. But I think there are people already here that have worked hard and have families and roots in america and they deserve a chance to become legal. I think yes they broke a law to get in this country but they didn't commit a violent crime to get here. Everyone deserves a chance at a good life and you being hispanic and like you said you have been around illegals your whole life you should know the struggles they face. I think the government needs to cut off welfare benefits for everyone not just legal or illegal. The people who are truly disabled have SSI to fall back on. The rest should get of their lazy asses and get a job. To me laziness is not tolerated. I have to get up and work everyday so should everyone else. No one should be living of my hard work legal or illegal. As for immigrants sending their kids to school. I dont have a problem with that they came for a better life for their children and I think every child deserves an education. I am employed and I pay taxes and if my tax dollars is going to support one illegal child that is good enough for me. I dont have children of my own and I am still paying into the system. As is my mother who has and father and aunts and uncles who most dont have student aged children anymore. Welfare has nothing to do with being legal or illegal it has to do with anyone taking money from the government. If I was illegal and had children and I had to pick between feeding my children or crossing a man made border I would cross that border and take care of my family. I do think you should deport rapist, murders, gang bangers, after they receive their proper sentences but I think the US needs to do something about the good people who are here and willing to come foward so they can become legal and if they want to close the borders at the same time they can do that too.

They don't want to talk about the issue in front of you unless you let them know up front you don't support illegal immigration.
