I don't know if messing with another country's policies and economics is viable. We have been successful in some endeavors but have failed miserably in others. The culture of those people must be carefully worked with before a good solution can be found.

Is it worth a try? Do the Pro's outweigh the Con's?

"Messing with another country's policies and economics". That certainly would not be viable. But addressing problems with the Mexican (or American!) economy can mean a lot of things. One thing to start with is discouraging behavior that exploits people and the environment.

And it isn't all a govt2govt thing. It really can't be. It has to be mostly about businesses and people dealing with each other or it will never be real.

"Messing with another country's policies and economics" without their consent would be a bad idea. The sort of thing dictatorships do. BUT offering really good advice wouldn't hurt anybody! It could help Mexico and, by lessening the need for people to search for new jobs north of the border, help the USA too. Where's the downside?

True, it wouldn't cure the problem 100%, but what would? Getting rid of the source of a problem is almost always wiser than simply tackling the end result of that problem.

When did the US government EVER have a problem messing with another countries government or economics. The current state of economics in Mexico is a result of US forgien policy. Keeping Mexico poor benefits the US economy, it is domination economics learned from British Imperialism 100 years ago. Keep'em down, steal thier resources, use them as slaves then set them free. Once free blame their situation on them.

No, the problem that Mexico has is that it's very own government is corrupt. The way to fix illegal immigration is to enforce our current laws, starting with deportation, heavy fines for those that hire illegal immigrants and end all of the freebies such as welfare and medical for illegals.

If they can not get jobs, get welfare and free health care they won't come here and waste $338 BILLION a year of our tax money. We have already tried shipping our jobs to Mexico (NAFTA) and that doesn't seem to work so ending all of the freebies and eliminate the hiring of illegals is our only chance.

It is far too slow. However, the biggest problem is that OUR schools and services are the ones failing due to them illegally coming above our quotas, and the money should be put into those failing services HERE.

We're already doing that. Many US industries moved to Mexico for lower wages.

Now those same companies, are moving out of Mexico, to other countries with even lower wages.

So unless WE pass laws preventing OUR companies from leaving Mexico.....it's a futile effort.

Let's deport all the illegal aliens from our country THEN talk about it. We have too many problems of our own to worry about theirs right now.
