I do think that each culture needs its own space wherby they can practice their own beliefs and cultures without fear of "offending" someone. I am specifically referring to America. In saner days, people came to this land and assimilated. Now, their culture is forced upon Americans.

It's already starting. Even my staunch democrat union family members were riled up by the protesters waving the Mexican flag on American soil. That image seemed to strike a chord in even the most indifferent citizen. They screwed up.

When the muslims start pushing it...places to wash their feet in the restrooms...wanting to wear clothing to cover their heads on driver's licenses...we are already pushing back.

The one area where the brain is completely disconnected is the airports, where 90 year old women with white hair are being frisked just like the 99% most likely suspects (arabs).

I hope we go back to the assimilation of the melting pot soon.

I agree that it's pleasant to learn about and interact with other cultures for the most part.

But the trend toward not giving up ethnic roots, and refusing to assimilate, labelling calls for assimilation as "racism" is really annoying.
The fragmenting and balkanization of American culture (and European culture), due to minority accusations of past racism and invoking guilt among whites, often with slanted or outright fabricated historical facts (while simultaneously often overlooking THEIR OWN racism, wars and atrocities, past and present) , is paralyzing our ability to have the resolve to protect our borders and our unifying culture.

Unfortunately, while I see a counter-argument begun, the multiculturalism movement is deeply entrenched, and will not be removed quickly. And even when proven historically wrong, multiculturalists just scream "racism" and keep on preaching their illogical fabricated arguments.

Your command of the english language is as challenged as your "facts".
Upwards of 90% of Native Americans died of diseases inadvertantly carried over by European explorers. There were isolated incidents of slaughter, but hardly what you suggest.
There were also thousands of European settlers who were killed by native americans:

You will note that this "multiculturalism" only applies to certain cultures, not all.
The problem lies with the Supreme Court and Congress; when they grow gonads and decide to stand up for American's rights, instead of rights of the invaders, then things will have a chance to become balanced.

It can be stopped and you can do your part - stop buying products made in other countries and stick to an American made wardrobe only, worship religious figures born in the US only, drive only American made cars, eat only American style food with none of those multicultural "flavors and spices" like salt, participate in American sports, drink only original American beverages (sorry beer lovers), watch American made TV's and listen to only the music the forefathers listened too before any those other cultures mixed to make rock n roll....we'll show those cultures they no good to us if they ain't assimilating to OUR culture!

Hi, I'm glad to see your question. Someone posted a similar question and after I went through the trouble of answering it, on clicking "Preview" said "Questioner deleted question". hmmmm!!! Here's my answer so that it won't be wasted. I think it addresses your points:

Anything in excess, like the numbers of non-citizens PLUS all illegals, overwhelming the numbers of citizens and legal immigrants in the USA, will (has already) convert us to THEIR culture, THEIR language, draining OUR financial resources... and just simply taking over inch by inch demand after demand...WHICH ARE ALWAYS CONCEDED by the idiotic liberals and our reposterous-acting government!!!

I'd be happy if they kept their culture to themselves (their right) and NOT forcing it to us (our right)! If we want to learn Spanish we are perfectly capable of learning it if/when we decide - don't need nor want Spanish to become the official language of MY country as they are advocating, among other things. They desecrated OUR flag, OUR National Anthem, OUR culture in general. Which, yes, it IS sprinkled with other people's cultures, BUT, NOT from being forced on us - just being absorbed by those of us who wanted it.

...and I didn't even touch upon the huge number of other impositions and demands from them like draining our financial resources reserved for the American poor, through OUR VERY HARD EARNED TAX MONEY, etc. etc. etc.

the greatest majority of them are rejects from their own countries as burdens to their governments - they come here when they are ill, they deliberately come here to GIVE BIRTH, they can't read/write their own language, they are gross, unclean, they are drug addicts, they don't want to work because they collect "disability", they are rapers, they are killers...Also, they bring ALL of their gross, ugly and cruel "culture": bull fighting, dog fighting, rooster fighting, santeria (the hispanic version of voo-doo), etc. Nice country we are having now, huh?

Oh wow! Yes! This is how I feel and if you know Spanish watch their certain TV programs where they aren't even afraid to - proudly - admit all of the above!!! You'll also watch the Hispanic newsjournalists, psychologists, lawyers, etc. how hard they fight DEFENDING illegals and at the same time how grossly they all critizise on the air our UNITED STATES OF AMERICA while enjoying living here!!! I wrote them but...no answer ever...of course!!!

Anyone else who's not afraid of the illegals and can speak up against it, and the stupid idiot liberals AND our government who support them??? Or do we surrender like sheep to slaughterhouse to the illegal conquest of OUR COUNTRY??? :o) Adela

P.S. Please forgive the lengthy answer...and I didn't even say it all...

I disagree, I don't think anybody forces their culture on anybody, especially in the U.S. However, we are lucky enough to live in a land with so much diversity. We can learn so much from our neighbors without having to travel the world. How cool is that? I love how I am able to be patriotic and celebrate Independence Day and also have a chance to be festive on St. Patricks Day and Cinco De Mayo! I believe having diversity and tolerance of other peoples cultures makes most people happy and fulfilled. Im not trying to use this as a put down because we are all Americans but did you know the Europeans were the ones to force their Religion and government on the Native and African Americans? Im only trying to open your eyes a little.

There is an unearned sense of entitlement -not just among immigrants, but native born Americans, as well. I worked my butt off for 35 years and am comfortably retired. Yet, others seem to think that they should enjoy the same luxury. Bah!!

Aw, you don't like it when Wiccans get school systems to ban "Hansel and Gretel" because of "cruelty and insensitivity toward witches"? You mean you don't agree with The Stutterer's Rights Project, which pressured Warner Brothers to replace the non-PC Porky Pig, with "a positive, pro-active stuttering Porky"?

Multi-culturalism has nothing to do with political correctness.

Political correctness is a process of treating everyone like children -- and assuming that people are incapable of handling anything that they feel is "offensive".

True multi-culturalism allows for honesty -- if you don't like someone, you are entitled to say so.
