ok here is the situation: i know somone who has come into the usa and married an american so she can get her green card ... she only stayed married to him for three months but still went to the immagration interviews with him under false pretence .. she was also pregnet with another mans baby at this time and told them that is was her so called husbands baby which was not the fact. now she has kicked out the real babies father and is with another man and divorced from the man she married to get into the usa .. my question is .. if the babys father goes to immagration with this information does the baby get taking away from him and she goes back to her country with her mother? or does the father have the right to keep the baby in the usa and yes the baby's father is an american born and raised in the usa .
thanks

Maybe I am missing something here, but if we let illegal aliens come into this country and after a few years become citizens, than we will have to pay them minimum wage, and the benefit of low cost wages will be lost and the orginal employers will hire new illegal aliens coming in that they don't have pay minimum wage and than we will have a pool of new unskilled, uneducated immigrant citizens that can't get jobs and will become a leach on society. so how is letting illegal immigrants become citizens beneficial?
btw I am neither a liberal or conservative, I am a moderate. someone educate me on this matter. thanks

Let me start out by saying that I've been dating my boyfriend now for about two years now and we are very much in love. We've decide that maybe it's time to get married but there's a slight problem.

His from Guatemala and lives here in the United state the only major issue is that he's an immagrant and can't work at least not legally. Even if we were to get married he still wouldn't have papers and the reason for that is because he has deportation on his record and not because he did something illegal but because he didn't leave the United States when asked.

What are options or steps i have to make in order for us to live a normal life here? Can anyone provide me with any information? By the way I am a U.S Citizen.

Thanks!

Instead of concentrating on trying to keep illegal immigrants out. Why not eliminate the incentive ? Force employers to pay heavy fines like $50,000 for every illegal immigrant they hire. Even throw in prison time if necessary. Well, why not ?

Is there something inconsistent about instituting "immigration reform" (which will likely include some form of amnesty and/or guest worker program) on the one hand, and raising the minimum wage on the other?

Will guest workers be subject to minimum wage and all other employment laws? If they are, then won't the economic incentive to hire "illegal illegals" rather than guest workers or legal citizens or residents be as strong as ever? Or if there will be some exceptions to the prevailing wage laws, then isn't the whole guest worker program a back-door method to repeal the minimum wage? Or do the illegals - those who "take the jobs Americans won't take" already make minimum, meaning that almost everyone is being paid bove the minimum anyway?

It seems like a contradiction to me to relax immigration policy and raise the minimum wage at the same time. I suppose it makes sense if, after this next amnesty, they promise to REALLY crack down on the border - but get real!

Thoughts?

I mean GPS systems to the illegals so they dont get hurt coming here illegally, no real enforcement of our existsing laws, why dont we just let everyone come here legally, then at least we can know who they are and their where abouts?

And why does it SEEM that illegals are treated better than our own legal citizens?

I haven't heard much talk about the fence lately or any immigration reform.

If they give amnesty to illegal aliens, what is the next step? We will have about 20 million new citizens, and the illegal aliens will just keep coming in.

Are they going to do anything about the problem or let it continue forever, granting amnesty to illegals every 20 years or so?

YOU elected these clowns.

Illegals are simply taking advantage of a broken system which our officials do not want to change. If you REALLY want things to change, notify the clowns you elected. Politicians are self-serving jackasses who do not care about the people.

Why do you blame the illegals?

According to materials disclosed by TREA, a senior citizen's advocacy group via a freedom of information act lawsuit, illegals will be allowed to get social security after 18 months of work in the US. Because it takes an American 10 years to get the same benefit, is this fair?
Other details include:
1. If the illegal can prove they worked in the US for longer than 18 months, even if by identity theft or false ID, they will be able to collect backpay on the benefits they "lost" while being illegal.
2. Illegals will be allowed to move back to Mexico and retain their benefits, and it will be under the honor system that the family of the reciever to let the US govt know if he/she has passed away.

What is going on here? Do our representatives really represent us or Mexico? This will surely break the Social security system it is ignored by congress.

The government of Mexico announced that it was sending more than 3,000 soldiers and federal police officers to fight drug gangs in the border city of Tijuana, the latest offensive by President Felipe Calderón, who has promised to smash organized crime. The force, backed by boats, planes and helicopters, will mount checkpoints in the city, patrol the coast and hunt down traffickers, Interior Secretary Francisco Ramírez Acuña said. Tijuana, over the border from San Diego, has long been one of the favorite smuggling routes for drugs to the United States. Last year, more than 300 killings occurred in the city.

Question:
Do you think this will help control the drug flow ?
Do you think the soldiers should help in stopping the flow of illegal aliens into the US ? What do you think about this action by Mexico,
will it help at all with stopping anything,or is it just more smoke and no fire ?

I live in the UK and am from sri lanka. I am staying here on the basis of living together (not married) with my partner who is a french national residing permantly in the UK. In April, i would have completed 4 years together. My letter says that i would be eligible for "time limit attached to your stay in this country to be removed". I have heard that the law has changed for work permits and that one has to wait for five years (instead of four)before applying for indefinite leave . I wonder if the same applies to me as well ? Any advice will be welcome.

The tide of change has taken on a relentlessness that it is impossible to reverse. No prospective Government has any plan to change the way things have become. It matters not for whom we vote in the next election, things can only get worse (or better if you are non-English). Proper England has gone for ever except in the shires, and they won't be able to hold out for ever.

Should we not have a party which encourages mass emigration to countries which respect the rights of the indigenous population.

(I DO realise that the English would become of a similar status to the immigrants they would be getting away from - however, there are countries like Australia and New Zealand who (a) need more people to ensure that the country works and (b) are currently getting most of their immigrants from Asia instead of England (which they would by far prefer).
