Give them a chance, they'll be here soon enough without you encouraging them!

I am bulgarian and a lot was written in press in Western europe about so called tide of bulgarians and romanians who are going to flood UK and other countries. And thats really funny :) We(bulgarians) are 7.8 million people and only 2 million are young people. Most of the people who wanted to emigrate did that a long time ago ( between 1990-1993) Don't be afraid of us and dont believe the newspapers :)
Actually i wonder why u are afraid of eastern europeans but u already have lots of arabs, indians, pacistanians, afghans, mojahidins and many other like them. May be u prefer Osama Ben Ladden??? I can tell u thet our gypsies are better people than most of those and at least they are not terrorists!!!

They start slowly my friend, a dozen or so here, a dozen or so there, get jobs, get somewhere to live, phone home, get the rest of the family here, build thier own little communities, just like the Asians,West Indians, Turk's, Iraqies and now the Poles ! Just wait and see, 2 years from now and oh, how your going to be eating your words !

You are so right - but I rather think it is the Daily Mail that will be doing that! Why do people get their knickers in a twist about people who genuinely want to work.

Makes me so angry to see the work shy complain about their jobs being taken - I would rather see a happy Romanian or Pole serving me my lunch than an unwilling worker anyday.

I was walking through my town centre the other day and thought I was in Warsaw. Don't worry, the Romanians and Bulgarians will be here. Fingers crossed Turkey doesn't get membership.

Not yet, but it's only the 5th, but there are some restrictions imposed on them, which mean they cannot just come like that.

Anyway, what's all this fuss about EU immigrants? At least they're legal. I think UK has a bigger problem with illegal immigrants. OK, I'm an EU immigrant, but I swear I'm one of the good ones. LOL.

The Mirror isn't right wing... Did you mean to say the Daily Mail? That's the poisonous rightwing paper.

I haven't seen any stampede or flood of any description.

Haven't seen any so far.

I expect they'll be like the Polish people - prepared to work long hours for low pay, in jobs British unemployed people refuse to do, and still able to send money home every week.

I have a great deal of respect for them.

And when you meet them working in hotels and restaurants they are SO polite and friendly - unlike the homegrown versions.

I've seen 3 romanians ... they were staying at my house from 29Dec-1Jan ... the man used to work for my dad and my dad and uncle went out before to visit him in Romania ... he came to return the favour ... great fella, brought his wife and kid.
He reckons most will go back to Romania like he did before.
