Maybe I am missing something here, but if we let illegal aliens come into this country and after a few years become citizens, than we will have to pay them minimum wage, and the benefit of low cost wages will be lost and the orginal employers will hire new illegal aliens coming in that they don't have pay minimum wage and than we will have a pool of new unskilled, uneducated immigrant citizens that can't get jobs and will become a leach on society. so how is letting illegal immigrants become citizens beneficial?
btw I am neither a liberal or conservative, I am a moderate. someone educate me on this matter. thanks

Hopefully these flaws will be straightened out soon.
Democrats are pushing for this guest worker program that I do.
I apply with Department of Labor and test the labor market to see if any local domestic workers want these jobs. WHen nobody responds I continue with the process and Department of Homeland Security grants me a certain number of visas while my recruiter in Mexico has been looking for able bodies to come and work. they do get fingerprinted and interviewed at the Consulate so it's not like we're bringing in just anybody.
It's not just mexicans either that are miggrating here.
Look at all the middle easterners that come here and open 711's or other little stores. Asians do it too. Everybody wants to come here, who wouldn't it's the land of the free right??
Either way, there are a lot of flaws in the system and until they focus on this they are not going to get fixed.

This is of course true. The Sens and the Cons know this, as do the res of us that care enough to be here and discuss it.
It makes very little sense to allow illegals into this country. It will do nothing but cause problems. So we need cheap labor? I think what the CEO guys from large corp. want is people they can abuse ...that is non Americans. It's tough to beat up and American with the legal system being the way it is here. It's much easier to do it to an illegal.
They don't dare complain, plus they are underpaid.
Frankly, the people hiring illegals are no better than the crooks at the borders that charge them $5000 to get into the US ...the so called coyotes. Or the drug cartel people or the simple robber and bandits that lay to the side and stick it to these folks that come up here. In some cases killing them.

Our country can't handle the influx of the current 20 million illegal alien criminals. They cost the taxpayers too much. They are unskilled and uneducated. I am a pissed off conservative.

They broke the law and shouldn't be rewarded with citizenship. Since they broke the law, that's why I call them criminals.

CA's idiot Governor is now saying he wants to give all children, including the illegals, medical insurance. They don't cover the citizens though. He claims that this won't bring more illegal alien criminals into the state. He has mush for brains! I thought we got rid of a Governor that kills CA when we got ride of Davis (AKA Gumby).

You are right on the money!!! However, don't let this "Guest Worker Program" nonsense get by you. There are thousands of unemployed US engineers who can't get work because the employers are bringing in engineers from India who will work for a lower wage. This has been documented on network tv. The Democrats like the illegals because they tend to vote Democrat and the Republicans like the cheap labor. Both parties have sold out the USA!

You didn't miss anything.
Illegal immigration hurts...............
If the pro-illegals get their way and the 11-12 million illegals in the
country are granted amnesty. It will just bring more illegals as it will be clear for all the world to see - the US doesn't enforce its laws.

Leave all law breakers go free - it will save billions of taxpayer dollars. Jails can be used for low income housing. At least with murderers walking the streets we won't have to worry about over population.
Guns sales might go up but with no background checks - the best shot will win so what the heck.
No laws for all is only fair.

I agree. However, I think that those displaced, immigrants that just became citizens will believe they have the right to their job at the legal minimum wage. Oddly, it is the legal immigrants that have the most to gain from stopping illegal immigration.

At least in UK, it is employers who break the law by paying less than the minimum wage, regradless of the status of the workers. So the authorities need to keep up the pressure on employers.

It's not beneficial.

Apart from the problems you just mentioned, illegals don't pay taxes but use all the services.

It would be nice if we could take all the time and money we're currently devoting to trying to weed out and keep out illegal immigrants and use it to make Mexico a nicer place to live, but that can't happen.

BINGO!

It is just as simple as you stated -What part of it the morons in Washington don't get is beyond me!
Problem-Employers wanting and using Undocumented "Hassle free" workers!
Legalize them and then we have to support them because they will now no longer be wanted or used!
Next illegal wave!
