If your American, you'll need a form of state id (like license) and your passport. Otherwise, confuse the MX coming here by crossing their roads on the opposite direction. You may not be stopped.

you need them because i'm assuming your going there to vacation or on business. and i'm also assuming you were not born there. so therefore you need documents so you will be able to reenter the U.S and so mexico will not be blamed for yet another american citizen going missing. now on the other hand if you are going to live there i'm sure you can enter there illegally and stay. Or if you don't mind riding in a cramped van or under the wheels of a running train to get there then you won't need the documents either and might even save yourself a pretty penny on the transportation ride. but i'm guessing you wish to take a plane or at most drive there wich unfortunately requires documents. HAVE FUN! remember not to drink the water and please keep the speaking english to a minimal (whenever mexican people hear anyone speaking english they assumed your loaded with dollars.and that can get you mugged.) enjoy your trip!

On the contrary, after 27th Jan. anyone entering the U.S must have a Passport and that includes U.S. citizens.

Contrary to what you have been told by the Whitehouse, it has to do with keeping Americans INSIDE their OWN country rather than keeping people out.

When Medicare Part D went into effect it was due to the deal worked out by the Whitehouse with the Drug Companies to keep Americans from going to Canada or Mexico to buy their drugs for a fourth or half the cost in the U.S.

You need documents to go to any other country, and the only valid document to travel between countries legally is a PASSPORT. I dont know if you need a Visa for visit to Mexico. but you definitely need a passport to get back to your own country to prove to your own people that you are one of them.

They also need passports, and work permits, and visas to get into the united states, but they dont use it coz, most of them cross the borders illegaly, and those illegals are hired by many large organizations, to do petty jobs, at menial rates, which no other american living legally in here wants to do.

My husband is Mexican, born and raised. He came to the U.S. with a green card in 1987. He joined the U.S. Army and years later became a U.S. citizen. Whenever we travel to Mexico to visit his family and we are coming back over the border, the border patrol give me a harder time than they give him. All he says is "US Citizen", they look at me funny. I've even had them pull me out of the car and search me. I'm a U.S. citizen and they treat me like an illegal. The best thing you can do is take your passport. They might give you a hard time too.

im wondering why, with all your hatred towards Mexicans, you would decide to go to Mexico (of all places) to vacation! Also you need documents to come back into the country, unless you plan to stay in Mexico.

Yeah seriously.
The Mexican government gives us claims to how we treat illegal Mexicans and they treat illegals much worst than most countries.
They say that illegals has no rights and should not get any respects. They gave the guy a very unfair trial and just threw him into the jail.

Yep...I agree. We don't need them to leave, you need them to come back. Unless you want to run across the border with the illegals.....which might be easier than getting a passport and paying $100 for it!

You need a passport whenever you travel outside the USA, they don't need them because they come here illegally.
