With an estimated 2005 population of about 106.5 million, Mexico is the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world.

Mexico is a racially and ethnically diverse country. Its three main ethnic groups are mestizos (mixed European and Amerindian), Amerindians, and Europeans. Mexicans of European descent, which make up about 15% of the population, are mostly Spanish descendants. There are also those of German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Polish, Russian, British, and Swedish descent. The remaining minority is largely comprised of Afro-Mexican, Middle Eastern, and East Asian people. A large Chinese community exists in Mexicali, Baja California and a historic small influx of Filipinos have come to Mexico since the late 16th century.

You say that we came as legal ones.....if you want to consider the atrocities committed to the North American Indians as our coming here legal do so......The Indian did not have the concept of owning land.......The saw land as on loan by mother nature. Mother nature owned the land they did not. So when the White Man came requesting to buy land the Indian so much wanted to share all of the bounty of the land with the white man......The white man tricked the Indians into entering into written contracts of land purchase.......lands of hundreds of acres purchased with little in exchange.....was not money.......Beaver pelts, deer antlers....beads...etc were the purchasing items. The Indians not understanding the concept of a man owning land......assumed that they were giving the white man the same rights as they had to hunt fish and camp .... The white man saw the Indian as stupid and dumb and fraudulently acquired his lands..... so don't say we came here as legal.... we came as thieves.

more prosperous, better place to live?
Do you think all their experiences in Mexico will help them be prepared to be better citizens and voters in America? Will they accept and practise abiding by the laws of this country?
What will happen if these illegals are turned into instant citizens? Will they know what to do and be productive to the degree that the rest of American will prosper and thrive into the future?

It's racist in that we unfairly allow a much greater amount of mexicans/hispanics and canadians to illegally immigrate here, we are discriminating against people of other races and nationalities that do not live in countries bordering on the USA, The solution is to stop illegal immigration and allow only legal immigration.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some time this month, the number of Americans will surpass 300 million, a milestone that raises environmental impact questions for the only major industrial nation whose population is increasing substantially.

The U.S. Census Bureau predicts the 300 million mark will be reached in mid-October, 39 years after U.S. population topped 200 million and 91 years after it exceeded 100 million.

This will make the United States No. 3 in population in the world, after China and India.

Most of the growth is taking place in the South and West, according to the Census Bureau. From 2004 to 2005, U.S. population had a natural increase -- births minus deaths -- of 1.7 million and international migration of 1 million.

Whether the 300 millionth U.S. person is added by immigration or by being born in the United States, the expected absolute number of Americans prompted a report by the non-profit Center for Environment and Population.

The report's author, Victoria Markham, noted that the United States is the only industrialized nation with significant population growth. The vast majority of the world's population rise -- about 98 percent -- is in poor countries, she said.

"In combination with our very high rates of natural resource consumption and the associated pollution, that results in America having the highest per capita environmental impact in the world," Markham said in a telephone interview.

Many Americans tend to hate, demean, or at best look down on my fellow Latin Americans in the US, thinking that all of them are "Mexican ILLEGALS".........without a clear knowledge of these people's criminal backgrounds?

In short...why is it that if you see a Pancho or a José wearing a hat and riding in the back of a truck....you automatically think he is an ILLEGAL ALIEN??

Americans are ALWAYS welcome to visit Mexico. Your criminal background goes unquestioned here in Mexico, even though THOUSANDS of Americans have shown a tendency to:

Vandalize our fine resorts and centuries-old colonial towns, puke our beautiful beaches, jeopardize Mexican's lives by drunk-driving, hire prostitutes, purchase and buy drugs, disregard the most basic decency norms as they love to go around naked in public, and a wide range of misdemeanors.

You bring dollars to Mexico? That's the reason we accept you? Well...

On the 10th anniversary of what immigration reform advocates call stringent changes to immigration laws, supports of the legalization of the undocumented are once again speaking out -- only this time, they are hoping not only to mobilize their vote, but also use their buying power to force the kind of change they want.

"The social security administration says it plans to send out 8 million no match letters," said Martino Unzuerta, Chicago Workers Collaborative.

My husband and I met, fell in love, had a church wedding, he's 51 and I'm 57, and all we want is to live out the rest of our lives together here in America.
We went to our marriage interview on March 15,2006. 4 days before our 1st anniversary, our marriage was approved but they handcuffed my husband and took him away. Said he had overstayed his visa and had a final order of removal. ICE has had 2 sets of travel documents for my husband to be sent back to India and they still continue to hold him in jail. My husband is not a criminal and has no criminal record of any kind, not even a jay walking ticket. If you go to ipetitions on immigration you'll find a lot more info on our case. lonely_spouce
