It is a nationality, if you refer to hispanics then let me inform you there has always been Hispanics in America... yeah legal,hard working, tax paying Hispanics.

Some of them are even members of the Minute-Men.

If you were in the military and you went to a foreign country for years, fought many battles, survived wars attrocities, then returned home and found your entire nation taken over by illegal aliens? You went to a foreign nation to defend their freedoms, and when you returned home, everything was in a foreign language, it was no longer the country you remembered when you left. What would you think of your fellow Americans?

home now surely - everybody should go back to their native land and then everyone can get on with their lives. If you have 51% african blood/DNA then what are you - if you have 51% Eastern European blood or 51% asian blood or 51% anything other than celtic shouldn't you do the decent thing and leave the UK and Ireland and if you have less than 51% native american blood then you should do the decent thing and leave the USA shouldn't you. Correct the invasions of history and everybody go home like ET shouldn't they?

without so much as a "by your leave" to the residents of said country? Iraq is such a mess. It wouldn't be so bad if they're the only ones being bombed but the terrorism is also spreading here. We're tired of these bloody hypocrites talking of being "invaded "when they think nothing of wreaking havoc in other countries? I wish they'd shut the f**k up

Mexicans will keep coming as long as Mexico stays "poor" & families can't support themselves there. No wall, gate, fence, moat, etc. is going to keep them away from pursuing a better life. Instead of working against Mexico, & sealing ourselves off one of the few allies we have left, we should work w/ them to fix this. (It's not just our border!)

The only way to keep Mexicans in Mexico is to help stabilize Mexico enough to where they can find a job that pays enough to live. If we're helping countries get rid of corrupt gov'ts and "restoring democracy", why not our neighbor? You know, just like they claim to be doing in Iraq. How can we prosper as a country, when our neighbor is in such bad shape?

Anyway, we'd be better off in the long run, if we spent the fence money investing in businesses so they have reason to stay & work there. Nobody wants to pay for others' misfortunes, but eventually we'd all benefit. We didn't screw Iraq up either, yet we're there "rebuilding" & paying for it.

The only time I've seen a burning Mexican flag was last May. American flags are burn so often they already amount to a % of the Ozone Layer Hole.

And don't say it's because you're great, cause they hate you even in those places where the way of life is far higher than in the US (germany, Switzerland, France)

This plan should be a sensible one to both sides:

1. U.S. citizens do not hate Mexicans, we just feel that a massive influx of illegal Mexicans (65% of all illegals by some estimates) needs to come down to a trickle.
2. A border fence is the only sensible way to slow down illegal entry. Of course a border fence will not be 100% effective, but if we can slow down the rate of illegals from 1 million a year down to only 175,000 a year that's alot of progress.
3. The high rate of illegal Mexicans combined with a high rate of birth by those same Mexicans is putting tremendous strain on our schools and social services and as a result their remittances back to mexico should be taxed since they do not pay FEDERAL INCOME TAX.
4. ESOL class should only be for one year. There is no reason why it should take a child longer than one year to learn functional english. "English First" should be a national policy when it comes to education.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico pleaded with President Bush on Monday to veto a Senate proposal to build a new fence to keep illegal immigrants out, saying it could backfire by making the border more dangerous.

The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly backed a bill on Friday to construct about 700 miles of fence, a project Republicans hope will impress voters calling for tougher immigration control ahead of November 7 congressional elections.

"The Mexican government strongly opposes the building of walls in the border area between Mexico and the United States," President Vicente Fox's spokesman Ruben Aguilar told reporters on Monday.

"This decision hurts bilateral relations, goes against the spirit of cooperation needed to guarantee security on the common, creates a climate of tension in border communities," he said.



Aguilar said it would send a diplomatic note to Washington later on Monday urging Bush to veto the bill, which requires the president's signature to become law

Will American citizens just forget about the illegality, the bankrupted hospitals, education, social welfare, health care, large prison populations and so on or will there be discord?
How will LEGAL immigrants who came here in a law abiding way be treated or known to be any different than those who were more desperate and came illegally?
Will American continue to broaden it's Spanish speaking benefits to Hispanics and embrace these cultures with gratitude, grace and acceptance?
What will the reaction be to Amnesty? Will two opposing cultures emerge and compete/fight against each other for resources and opportunities. Will there be enough to go around? Will the second level of families and in-laws coming add fuel to the fire and further worsen or make better the situation for all Americans?
What do you think will happen if Amneyst is granted or in some fashion all the illegal people here now are given citizenship?
