If you were a spaniard in europe, wouldnt you feel a little embarassed to have the language your people created be used by illegals in the United States? i know i sure would! i wouldnt want a bunch of people who are stealing everything they have in america to be associated to my countries colonial history in any way! especially when theyre a joke to so many americans! do you agree that you would be kinda mad that your nations legacy is being tarnashed by a bunch of criminals?

Estimating the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. is not an easy task. The best estimates peg the existing number at 7 million (about 3% of the population), with an estimated annual inflow of about 350,000. Of these, about 125,000 (41%) are visa "overstayers". Here's a table showing some 1996 figures of illegal immigrants by country of origin:

Mexico 1,321,000
El Salvador 327,000
Guatemala 129,000
Canada 97,000
Poland 91,000

would you not blame one main group over the rest when it is so mainly lopsided? if it was turned around to your home country and america was the top number would you not blame america for the problems?(dant say no becasue most of you do already)

Fiance is an immigrant. He takes me to visit family members, or they come to visit us at our house etc. They all speak English (some broken some very well) and several other languages. Yet they speak only other languages with I'm there and I feel lonely and left out of the conversations. Once during family baby shower I was sitting there while they shared what must have been a very good joke. They all laughed hysterically. One of the older uncles entered the house and looked at them and at me and in English demanded SILENCE! He then stated that they were being rude and ignorant to speak only their language with me present and feeling left out. They all looked around sheepishly and my fiancé apologized. He left about 10 minutes later and they resumed speaking the other language. How you perceive this man and his family? Ignorant? Inconsiderate? Or are they just speaking the language they are most familiar with and it's no disrespect to me? What do you think?

Hello everyone, welcome to another installment of All American Carl's All American Logical. This question relates to the asnine arguement some people bring up about immigration that "white people in USA are immigrants, the only true Americans are the indians!". The problem with this theory, is that logic and cold hard evidence proves it wrong, yet people still attempt to use it. get up to date people, the "indians" IMMIGRATED to USA across the Beringia landbridge or ""Bering Land Bridge". If you want to get technical, pretty much everyone got the place they are because of immigration, but it's the ones who settle, conquer, and create a thriving nation without faultering who take claim to the land. This nation as we know it was born an american nation, a new founded nation, we fought the indian immigrants for this land, and WON, then we fought our overseas oppressors and WON. simple as that, our country, you lose too bad so sad..Why do people continue to gripe about the indians and etc?

if the pro illegals support the illegals, does that mean they find it ok for the illegals to steal SS#, not pay taxes, live 30 under one roof, get free medical? And, anything else they are doing wrong. Do they support the way the illegals are sucking the life out of the United states? do they support the way the illegals are disrespecting our flag? do they support the illegals on living on welfare and getting food stamps after they have stolen an American citizens SS#? I just want to know, if they support the illegals do they support everything they are doing wrong towards the United States and the citizens?

Just wondered if maybe their flag burning had the reverse effect on some people as opposed to convincing them to be on their side. Just ran across this article where an American latino veteran felt insulted by the flag burning.

The federal government is doing little to nothing to solve this illegal immigration problem despite what the majority of Americans want (remember this in November). Do you see a wave of reform against illegals sweeping the nation with cities and states?

I already know my ancestors were immigrants. But, when they came here, the United States wasn't over populated. They didn't come here to steal SS# or do any harm to the ones that was already here. the last thing on their mind was taking jobs that didn't belong to them. Why is it every time someone asked a question, there's someone saying the same thing..."your ancestors were immigrants too." People seem to forget, we are dealing with the NOW....not the yesterday. I could careless if my ancestors were immigrants or not. We are here now and this is our country. so why should we not fight for whats going on Now?
if the illegals were to become legal, do you honestly think they will continue being these "hard working people?" No they won't. but, they will continue collecting welfare and sitting around disrespecting our country. I don't care if they are nice people, or hard workers..what i do care about is how they are disrespecting our country and no one is saying anything about it

I see the government trumpeting a hundred deportations here, a thousand there, after great investigative expense and morning raids by SWAT teams, etc. Yet Homeland Security estimates that there will be 302,000 subject to deportation in our county and state jails just this year who typically would NOT be deported.

Surely these are the ones who bother us most - why aren't they routinely deported?

What do you think?

"LOS ANGELES -- Authorities raided a squalid house Friday, capturing 70 illegal immigrants and four suspected smugglers believed to have been holding migrants hostage while awaiting payment.

Federal agents and a sheriff's SWAT team entered the home before dawn, setting off flash-bang grenades to stun any smugglers inside.

Packed into the grimy one-story bungalow were 70 people from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Mexico. Some slept 20 to a room, authorities said.

"It was squalor, absolute squalor. Bug infestations, trash on the floor," said Frank Johnston, an agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The house had bars on the windows and a surveillance camera to monitor the outside, Johnston said. A handgun also was found."

In 1997 the LA Times performed a poll of Ventura County (not LA County) residents regarding their feelings on illegal immigrants. While it underlines that Latinos felt more favorably towards giving illegals benefits, my surprise was at the number of Latinos who were NOT in favor:

"Fifty-five percent of Latinos would grant illegal immigrant children a public education, while only 45% of whites would extend that right.
A strong 58% majority of Latinos would allow illegal immigrants to receive health and welfare services, compared with only 35% of their white counterparts.
And 64% of Latinos would oppose any change in the Constitution to deny children of illegal immigrants automatic citizenship if born here--a position supported by only 35% of whites. "

I would like lawers answers please.
I have a friend (man, american nationality) who is married whith french woman since 8 years (they get married in the USA).
They have 2 childrens, both have french and american passports and one of the two was born in the USA.
Few month after their marriage, they decided to come back to France to live.
After seven years of living in France, the last year, they went back to live to the USA.
But the spouse can't obtain the permanent resident visa, and green card neither.
And, in July, the woman and her 2 kids came to France for Holidays and when they came back to the United-States, they were bloked by the customs and they could not enter in the us territory.

And my question is how can she do to obtain her visa to join her husband in USA?
I don't understand why a woman married with an american since 8 ans with 2 americans kids couldn't live with her family in the United-states?
Thank you by advance to give me an answer asap

Construction worker Jose Lopez said he came to the rally as a way to protest the unfair treatment of immigrants.

"(The counter-protesters) think what they want, but they are more illegal than we are," Lopez said. "They come from Europe. We come from the Americas." That is ridiculous isnt it? The level of "illegalness" Is this going to become a new catch phrase? Did Jose admit to being an illegal immigrant?

Why do they use this excuse to justify their presense in our country: "If we werent here to do certain jobs they wouldnt get done because the white man wont do them."

Do they realize that if they werent here to do them that WE certainly would and that we would also get paid better to do them?
