They can say it till the "cows come home"....my ancestors were LEGAL immigrants. THAT is the difference.
It is the difference between being invited into someones home, and breaking in....

I agree I have many ancestors that were immigrants, but that was back in the 1700-1800 hundreds, and they had a policy to follow back then and they did. Who gives a flying flip if our ancestors were immigrants, we were born American citizens, what alot of Illegal immigrants from the south i.e. Mexico don't get is that alot of their ancestors were immigrants also, unless their ancestors were central American Indians, they came from spain....so they were immigrants also.
But for the most part, many Americans can go to Ellis Island and find atleast one family members name in the registery there from when they landed there before coming forward into the main land.
If you are illegal now, don't bring up the past history, we are dealing with the here and now, not back in the day. Our ancestors did their suffering, and did everything by the book and they usually didn't contibute to the rising crime rate in the nation. Get over yourselfs, become legal (the proper way and not have half of your household having the same SSN), or get out and go home.... wait I like the second one better.... just go back to your home country.
My family did it by the book and not one of my relatives have ever been convicted of a crime, or spent any time in prison, in fact we have contributed alot to where we lived and grew up and such. Did a course on it in college.... sorry folks I went through my family history, my family (all of them) did everything legally.
I don't see anyone speaking up about what happened to the American Indians, my ancestors there suffered a whole lot more than any of these illegal immigrants. Trail Of Tears ring a bell for anyone? How about that? huh, these illegals are crying "boo-hoo" you are making life so hard on us. When look what we did to the indians, how horrible we treated them and they are still getting treated horribly. If you are illegal and don't like the treatment from this country or from your own, go back and fight for your rights. Don't just sit around and complain.

Until YOU are blue in the face. Because it will always be true.
While your ancestors did not steal SS# they did do a great deal of harm to the ones that were already here.
Rape, murder and land theft were just some of the things done to those who were already here. And in terms of over population. The land that was here was just enough to feed and support the people and animals that were here before your ancestors arrived. Humans and other important species have been made extinct since your ancestors arrived.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

My ancestors were here first so wouldn't that make it OUR country? Why don't you go back to the country of your own ancestors?
It does matter about your ancestors being immigrants because they too came here and took what did not belong to them. Instead of taking away jobs, they raped, murdered, and pillaged for what they wanted. It only matters about the NOW to you because you now claim it as yours.
Stop whining about people bringing up the past; you're no better than the current immigrants whining about their fair share. You only want what you have and the fact that you want to keep it and could care less about how you got it.
I don't agree with the immigration of now either, but I also don't agree with the immigration of then, it was only legal then because no immigration laws had been established by those immigrants whose decendants now control America. And the problem is, is that people are saying something about how the prior immigrants disrespected an entire country and its people and you don't want to hear that.

I think they keep saying that in the hopes that somewhere in your heart you can at least recall what its like to be illegal and in a new country.Needless to say I think that's all just wasted time, because people tend to be stubborn and pig headed in their beliefs. Its like trying to rehabilitate a criminal, most know its wrong to steal, muder and do other henious acts but they still do them. And i'm sure if you looked back into your family history you would find that some of your ancestors didn't have such great reputable jobs, and wether you will admitt it or not at some point and time all immigrants were not looked up well by others.and you can't say someone will change once they became legal, afterall your ancestors became legal after immigrating to the U.S and I doubt they became lazy, its all about how you are raised.Hard work is instilled in everyone by their parents regardless of their immigration status just like manners.

They don't want to talk about the raping and pilliaging and murder/genocide to the people they exterminated to get their land.
It's all old news and doesn't hold up anymore. They are jealous and mad as hell they didn't get the chance to genocide the Indians to extinction.
They still want their day to finish the job - for their La Raza.
