"LOS ANGELES -- Authorities raided a squalid house Friday, capturing 70 illegal immigrants and four suspected smugglers believed to have been holding migrants hostage while awaiting payment.
Federal agents and a sheriff's SWAT team entered the home before dawn, setting off flash-bang grenades to stun any smugglers inside.
Packed into the grimy one-story bungalow were 70 people from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Mexico. Some slept 20 to a room, authorities said.
"It was squalor, absolute squalor. Bug infestations, trash on the floor," said Frank Johnston, an agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The house had bars on the windows and a surveillance camera to monitor the outside, Johnston said. A handgun also was found."

So what do you expect from a bunch of illiterate illegals who do good to spell their own name, Better Homes and Gardens? Let's hope they were all sent packing back across the border where they belong and the next time they come across maybe sterner measures should be taken to keep them on their side. As for the smugglers who brought them over here to bless us with their presence, they'll just keep bringing more and more across since they'll probably be let go after getting a slap on the wrist and being told "naughty, naughty, now don't do that again."

I think its gross that they live like that, they make a hell of a living and they can afford to live separate from others but choice not to..I'm so glad to hear that other states besides mine are doing raids..early in the week a restaurant was raided..the owner of the store smuggled in quite a few illegal aliens and gave them shelter and work,,the ins deported them and sent the owner of the restaurant to jail..See their time is coming soon..I don't know about you guys but every time i pass a house full of Mexicans their property is always nasty..

That's typical of the conditions of those types of places.Its inhuman to live like that.Most are housed by legal immigrants from those same country's for a very high price.No one should live like that.They become victims of their own people in this country.Stay home make it better there ,Demand that your governments do their jobs or get them out of office.Your home country must be better than living far worse than animals.Do not come to the USA illegally.Stay in your own country ,we have no more room or money for you .

The smugglers were responsible for those horrible conditions, so they should be thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. It's lucky that no one died in there.

I can't imagine how bad it would be in their home country for them to voluntarily seek that in preference.
