I have contacted my local police dept. My county selectman. My Congressman. My Senator. My neighbors. And now this site. The police say it's a federal thing,and pass me to Immigration and Naturalization,which never answer their phones,my selectman is useless,my congressman is not much help at all,they revert me back to immigration,and my senator is also useless.No one cares.Meanwhile since 9/11 millions of elegal aliens including Mexicans,have left their countries to live here in the U.S.A.When is someone,with athority,going to do something.Every day that goes by,thousands of elegals make it across the southern border.And no one in government gets fired or repremended.And for those pro Mexican folks,how many Mexican Troops are in Afganistan or Iraq helping in the war on terror? The answer is 0.They are not helping at all.The only good thing is,all elegal aliens above the age 17 going to public schools,and residing in the U.S.A. must sign up for the draft.No exceptions.

As an employer, I am legaly bound to verify a persons identity, social security number and work status (resident alien, green card, citizen). So, when I hire someone I ask for all of the documents to verify their status. I copy them all and put them in their job file. Many of these documents are bogus. How did they get them you ask? It is very easy. To prove my point, I went to Santa Ana, CA and found several open air stalls selling false ID and SS cards. Cheap too. $50 US. I called the local police and notified them of what was going on. They told me it was a federal issue. I called the FBI and was told is was an immigration issue. I called INS and was told that there were so many places like this that they would take a report but no other action would be taken.
So, my point is, why blame the employer, when he has no way of doing the job the federal, state and local authorities should be doing?

If so, drop all the racist fingerpointing and address the issue at hand. It matters not where someone comes from, or the color of their skin, or their religion. Can we agree it is a matter of law? As Jefferson said "This is a country of law, not of men". Think about it.

I've always thought Native Americans should be brought into the debate on illegal immigration considering how their land was taken and millions were killed by European immigrants who came here to pursue their own interests. It would seem to be a very ironic situation for them. I don't know how many Native Americans are on this forum (I doubt many) but I'd be interested in your perspective. Please state what tribe you are affilated with.

My friend just found out she has been lied to her whole life....her birthday is not what had thought all her life. Her parents died when she was young and she was raised by another family member under false and harsh conditions. The thing is that she is not a Us citizen...so how can she find out when she was born and then become a US citizen?

My cousin from Moldova was given a J1 visa good until Sep. 30. He was then fired from his job and the employer told him he needed to leave the country. Can he work for another company for the length of his J1 visa? What are the downsides as long as he leaves before his visa expires?

If you go on this site for responses and do not like them, do you have the right to send personal e-mails to those who disagree with you. Not just "I disagree with you" but threatening, obscene, scummy e-mails?

I am a contractor, and I hire people to help me work in New York. I am a big fan of immigrants, but LEGAL immigrants. Simply put, I do not hire illegal people to work for me. If you can't prove that you are a citizen of the United States, I won't hire you.

Do I make less of a profit than my competitors? Not really. Here's why.

If you hire someone who is breaking the law (in other words, an ILLEGAL immigrant), they are already a crook (they are ILLEGAL - get it???), and so, what makes you think they will do a proper job? As a result, you have to redo the job which eats away at your profit margin.

On the other hand, hiring LEGAL people usually results in a better job done more quickly, and so, your profits are up.

I treat my workers fairly and do not exploit them. In turn, they work their butts off. It's a symbiotic relationship. I charge slightly higher rates, but people know I do quality work, so they hire me.

Still think the economy needs illegals?

I read lots of stupid comments and questions from all colors of people and yet I see white people telling other ignorant white people how racist and stupid they are yet I don't see any one else complaining when people put down white people in general as red necks, white trash, etc. True, there is still racisim by whites but it would be stupid to say that racism towards whites does not exist. So why don't all of us educated people fight the ingnorance of the foolish?
