hmm where do I begin.
A few years ago some college friends and myself did a research paper on illegal immigrants. We did them on how our tax dollars are used by illegal immigrants. Well what we found out is that yes there are a few illegals immigrants on the welfare system, but there where 4 times more American citizens on it as well. The american citizens that we interviewed and where on it lived quite well, drove nice cars, had amazing furniture and money to spend. The illegal immigrants that where on welfare lived a mosdest life, lived in a small one bedroom apt., used the bus to get from A to B. Waited in lines at the county hospital to have their children (who are american citizens) seen by a doctor. Big diffenece between the two and yet people still blame immigrants for a lot of the bad things that happen in society. Welfare fraud is commited in a large portion by legals. Yes we did report the legal people for welfare fraud, if you are on welfare then why are you driving high end cars(my opinion).
That was one portion of the research. The other portion was on tax money. When illegals get hired and collect a check do they get taxed. 8 out of the 10 workers collected checks, the check where taxed. Now where does that tax money go, same place our tax money goes. We also asked them if they collect their refund check when they file taxes and they said no, because they where afraid to be deported. So where does the unclaimed refund money goes? It stays with Uncle Sam. So in my opinion its ignorant to say that illegals don't pay taxes because they do. I suggest that you contact your local IRS office and ask them how many millions of dollars are in unclaimed refunds every year and ask them what do they do with the money.

First, not all Americans live in luxury homes and shop at Rooms To Go. Second, illegal immigrants take jobs, funding and time from doctors away from legal citizens of this country. Third, Mexicans seem to be the only group of immigrants that refuse to learn the language and adopt the American culture. Fourth, fifth, and sixth topics can also be discussed. The attitude of what the hell and just deal with it are also part of the problem with illegal Mexican immigrants. The lost revenue from monies leaving the country to provide for families still in Mexico could be going for taxes if the worker were legal but, they are not. There are so many reasons Americans are against illegal immigration, it just seems we're against Mexicans because they are the ones abusing the system and remember, they are breaking the law.

LEGAL OR ILLEGAL? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
Some answers here have said that the illegal ones take welfare and don't pay taxes. As has already been mentioned ILLEGALS CANNOT CLAIM WELFARE YOU IGNORAMUSES!!!!
As for the taxes issue? Considering the vast majority of illegals are working for less than the minmum wage perhaps as low as $2/hour. IF THIS IS SO THEN SURELY THEY ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE WEALTH OF YOUR COUNTRY!!! You guys are getting great value from them. Cheap labour for the USA If they were LEGAL they would be on higher wages and be paying taxes and it would be costing the country MORE!! for their labour. SO QUIT COMPLAINING YOU BIGOTTED FASCISTS!!!
That still leaves the question what is the problem YOU guys have with whether these immigrants are legal or not? We have immigration laws only to control the numbers cause USA could not absorb all who would try to come in. It is a filter to cream in the better.
ALSO EVERYONE HAS A GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO WALK ON ANY PART OF THE EARTH THEY CHOSE!! NO MAN SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL ANOTHER WHERE THEY CAN OR CANNOT GO -DON;T YOU THINK? COUNTRIES ARE POLITICAL DIVISIONS IE: THEY ARE MAN MADE. THEREFORE HAVE NO AUTHORUTY IN THE EYES OF GOD! TO PREVENT ANYONE ENTERING ANY COUNTRY IS AN INFRINGEMENT OF THE VERY CIVIL LIBERTIES YOU AMERICANS SO CHERISH!!!
THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Personally, I'm not against Latino immigrants at all, even the illegal ones, mostly because if I were born poor in Latin America, I'd probably try to come here myself, legally or otherwise.
I do resent the leadership of Mexico and Central America, though, for not making more of an effort to get its population to control its birthrate, and for what sometimes seems like its indifference to its need to create a middle class.
America can't forever absorb Latin America's excess population. I wish we could. The solution to the problem, if there is to be one, has to be with evolution in Latin American societies. And it doesn't seem like the will to make that happen exists-- probably because the leaders of those countries assume the safety valve of emigration will always exist. That was a safe bet ten years ago, but now, it's become an issue, and it seems inevitable that at some point, it's going to come to a head.

Wow - Maria, you sure sound a bit, shall I say, "racist"?
Honey, PLEASE don't post a blanket accusation against ALL Americans.
You don't know ANYTHING about me or my world...as I don't of yours.
So, let me help you clue into a few FACTS:
1. I don't live in a luxury home;
2. I do my own yard work;
3. I love ALL foods, including Mexican (coastal, inland, Northern New Mexican-style as well as greasy fake fast-food Tex-Mex...some of which is cooked by white, black and/or brown people);
4. I actually prefer 19th Century European furniture...and most of my furniture is imported from Europe;
So, you ask:
"...so what the hell is the problem, they are human beings they just happen to be born somewhere else."
Chicky-babe - I treat ALL people with respect and dignity and expect the same from them.
I also don't have an anti-immigration bone in my body.
I was born OVERSEAS...I immigrated to this country and I respect the fact that America was built by immigrants.
By the way, my first girlfriend was Hispanic and a lot of friends are Hispanic.
So do us all a favor and don't be so narrow-minded with your questions.
I just wonder what bug crawled up your butt to sound so hateful!

We're not against immigrant Mexican people or against Mexican people at all. We're against any people sneaking into our country ILLEGALLY.
I was born here. I do not live in a luxury home and in fact don't even own my own home. I do my own yard work. Yes, I like Mexican food as well as Chinese, Italian, and Greek foods but that doesn't mean people from those countries can just cross our border and take up residence here without going through the proper channels--any more than I could go into their, or your, country and live without permission.
Yes, I was born here but guess what? If I need medical care I can't qualify for any of the programs that the illegal immigrants are handed on a silver platter. Taxes get taken out of my paycheck. That's not true for the illegals. I see how the market in my town cashes the checks for them--without ID. I have to pay registration on my car and since it's in my name if it breaks down I cannot just abandon it on the side of the road. If I end up in the emergency room for care and cannot pay they will hunt me down--by using my SOCIAL SECURITY #. And what about crime? Forensics depend upon fingerprints and DNA--none of which exist on record for illegals.
For all these reasons and more I completely disagree with your limited and self-pitying point of view.

Well, they are not all against Mexicans, just the illegal aspect of it. Somewhat I understand their frustration, but they should not be racist to them. And actually, there are a lot of Mexican-Americans (people born in the U.S. with Mexican heritage) that are against illegal immigration. The root of this problem begins in Mexico, our goverment should be responsible for those people, they should create more job opportunities. I hope our new president (even though I didn't vote for him) does a good job keeping our people here. They don't need to be going to another country to have a better life, they should have that good life in the country they were born, this whole thing isn't fair to nobody.

For one thing, few Luxury homes are built entirely by Mexicans. Landscaping is done by all ethnic groups. Why mention Mexican food? Americans love foods from all cultures -- Italian, Oriental, etc....No, Mexicans are not responsible for the bulk of furniture production. Stop with the human beings crap! Of course Mexicans are human stupid, I could care less where they are born -- If they jumped our borders illegally they don't belong here and should be jailed then deported. Non-tax paying illegals is what the 'hell' the problem is! If you are here legally then Stop whining! If you're an illegal then I can see why you have a problem....where are you, INS would like a word?!..!...?

This is the problem. Integrated Mexican Americans refer to themselves as just that. Or as Americans. They do not falsely accuse the majority of Americans, who are working class, of being a bunch of lazy rich people who hire Mexicans and then bad-mouth them. Like what you are doing. You are claiming I live in a luxury home with Mexican landscaping with a fabulous Mexican cook and hand crafted Mexican furniture and that I don't see you as a human being. You have already made up your mind about me because I'm white and American. You are a racist and that is why I am so worried about you coming here by the millions and out breeding everyone on the planet. I like Mexican Americans. I do not like the increasing numbers of very vocal racist creeps staging a reconquista of my country. Again, I repeat, MOST OF US DON'T live in luxury and most of us DONT have the means to hire anyone. You continuously lump in the average working class white person in with rich snobs. You are creating the backlash that you are whining about.

I'm not. How can anyone be so hostile to people who want to come here to work their asses off. Mexican immigrant contribute immensely to this country. It's interesting how many Whites consider themselves "native Americans," forgetting that their families immigrated here for better opportunities stealing land and committing genocide against Native Americans and stealing half of Mexico during the Mexican-American War of the 1840s. Isn't it ironic that in places like California, New Mexico and Arizona that Mexicans without documentation are considered "illegal"? Maybe someone should research a map from 175 years ago and see what country this was.
