For example, we would need to hire Americans to transport, to process, to care for the illegals while detained here. Then there would be companies hired to build buses for transportation. Human services to provide for the illegals while they are being detained....

This would benefit the companies who build buses, tire companies, food services, actually...would put our money back into the workings of our society to benefit our people while deporting those who do not belong here.

We would initially use monies sent to Mexico for this. Simply cut off all their aid...I don't know how much that is...I read it was somewhere around 80 billion dollars a year. Also use monies from those fined for hiring illegals...combined, that's a lot of pesos! We'd have enough left over to build a fantastic fence!

Perhaps we could make deportation a profitable business...it's the American way...to turn lemons into lemonade!

Okay, so I met my girlfriend while I was in Europe. She lives there now, and we ultimately want to live in the U.S. where I live. Problem is the only way she can become a citizen is if I marry her. I know you can come here via education or work, but what if she doesn't qualify for this? Is there another way she can become a citizen, because this 1k+ tickets for trips is getting expensive, and the most she can stay here for is 3 months. Anyone know any info that will help out our situation? Thanks =)

I was born in the UK to US citizens serving overseas in the US military. I know that when I was born, I was given dual citizenship of the two countries. I only lived in the UK for two years, and I have lived in the US ever since. I had been told that on my 18th birthday, if I hadn't made a voluntary renunciation of one citizenship or the other, my dual citizenship would lapse and I would retain the citizenship of the country where I reside. Is this true, or am I still both a US and UK citizen? I am 24 now, and have begun to doubt whether I am only a US citizen, or if I still have dual citizenship.

Thank you for not jumping all over my question on when immigration became illegal! I appreciate it! See I know all about how the process works now, I am married to a immigrant from Honduras, from day 1 we have been working with INS officals, because in all honesty b4 9-11 it was so easy to enter the USA that my husband basiclly just drove in, noone stopped him. It was ignorant on his part but in some parts of the world there is no media, and they just dont even know that it is illegal to come here with out the proper papers, ecpecally if noone stops you at the border. But as soon as my husband found out, he "turned himself in" to INS. He is still tecnecally "illegal" but INS knows he is here. Does that mean that he should be deported? NOw just to make this clear...I dont think that all illegals that come here un-documented are "unaware" of our laws, some may be (most know dam well) that was just the case with my husband.

Many years agao did people from a different country have to go through all the same things they do now? Or could they just come and go freely? I do know however that it was ALOT easier to enter the USA b4 9-11.

They will present a proposal to target businesses that employ ILLEGALS! The city councilman said he believes the ILLEGAL immigrant work force in the area is SUBSTANTIAL!! "it's one of the tools we have,to encourage employers to "do the right thing",and that,to me,is the key." 'We have a large population in this community, who are ILLEGAL,and the reason for most of them being here is to find jobs." "Several area businesses will be affected by such an initiative."

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More and more towns and states are saying, "ILLEGALS ARE UNWELCOME HERE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"bad boys, bad boys.whatcha gonna do when they come for YOU"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard (read) the minimization of immigrant soldiers' service and sacrifice. The argument: They JUST want citizenship. Yes, and some JUST want money for college. Some JUST want to get away from home. Some JUST want adventure. But over there, they care about and defend on another in a pit of hell that no self-proclaimed, pious expert on Americanism who has NEVER been there can understand. I hear the echoes of Vietnam-Era anti-Americanism, cloaked with a facade of patriotism. It IS American to sacrifice for freedom. EVERY troop, regardless of his origin, who stands shoulder-to-shoulder with my son or yours, deserves, along with his family, our honor and respect. His sacrifice, and the sacrifice of his family, EVEN if they are illegal, IS an American sacrifice. During Vietnam many in our country turned radically to an elevated sense of self-importance to justify hating some, if not all of our troops. Are you any different if you hate our immigrant troops, or even their families?

Call me crazy and uneducated but I really don't know what Mexico is doing to stop their own from coming here or if they are doing anything at all. Someone educate me on this please. Are they even trying to stop them? Do they have laws and punishment for their own trying to enter here illegally? Are they out rounding up coyotes and van loads of their own people? Are they trying to stop this disrespectful invasion and keep their own home? I have a feeling they are not doing much and don't give a s***.
I am hopeing for real answers to this question, I want to know what the hell is going on over there to stop them. What is the Mexican Government doing?

angela R - quote - No way.

The minutemen don't represent this country, only a section of it. They came to my border town and were politely asked to leave. Why? Because we didn't need their service. That's right, I live on the border and its quite and peaceful here.

Illegals here don't bother anyone. You never see them on the local news, the only crime committed is done by the locals here and that's not a lot either, we have a low crime rate for a city our size.

Imagine that, a border town that has a low crime rate? How is that possible?
What border town are you refering
I'd just like to know what border town angela R is in why she want indicate it.How about it angela R what border town is nearly crime free and everyone is happy and smiling all day long ?? from( Do you think that some one that insults the Minute-Men, are insulting the integrity of the American spirit? )

Look in the mirror people and you might see the real problem. Immigrants work harder and longer than their lazy American counterparts that want to be given everything. I have never seen one valid reason in the press and especially on this site whywe should close the borders. This country is founded on the principles of equality and the dream of freedom and opportunity, yet all you Conservatives wants to deny yet another group these freedoms.

Or it is ok to provide later after another one or two years. I could say, I can provide it but after I’ve finished my work contract here in K.S.A. Could the situation delay my application? Is the Canada immigration will not considered if I don’t have enough funds on the banks right on the start of application, but I can provide it later while my application is on the process?
