I am, of course, using flawed logic, but it is the same flawed logic as the Mexican and the Indians use.
We paid $15 million in 1848 and forgave $4 million in debt to Mexico, back when that was a lot of money, and now they believe that we have 'stolen' their land and that it is theirs for the taking.
We gave the Indian quite a few beads, jugs of firewater, and thundersticks for the land now possessed by Americans. The Indians 130 years decided they wanted their property back, fought for it, and got their asses handed to them. They're still whining about the property they legally gave up.
So, if I legally sold my car for $1000, can I take it back and keep the money, because, after all, I owned it first...
