If the illegals were "sent packing," would the US economy be better or worse? Without a cheap source of labor in the US,would more businesses simply move to foreign lands where the labor would be cheaper thus reducing jobs for Americans? Are illegals doing only the jobs Americans won't do? Would there be more jobs for Americans and those immigrants who are here legally? Would wages go up due to there being less competition for jobs and employers couldn't pay people "unofficially?" Would wages go down as Americans and legal immigrants fight for fewer jobs as businesses close down because they would have to pay more or would move out of the country? Would there be more tax dollars available to fund programs for citizens or would there be fewer tax dollars due to fewer jobs in the economy? Opinions one way or the other?

After all, the legal citizens most likely paid into taxes or their families have for probably several generations and they hit on hard times. How long have illegal citizens paid into federal taxes and does it even matter, since they are illegal?. Don't misunderstand, I know there are U.S. citizens who also abuse the system, but isn't that irrelevant? Isn't that something the USA should worry about, our business, not illegals? Is that any reason to allow the illegal immigrants to abuse it to the max, when they aren't even legal citizens?

that right after the May 1st., illegal demonstrations, that the Hispanics have created a violent backlash? Most uf us were content to leave them alone, until they bragged about taking over the country, claiming it is theirs.

I am seeing in the news, reading on the internet and hearing radio talk shows, on the subject of denouncing the illegals. They seem to have awakened anger in an otherwise tolerant nation. In the end, they may have created a tempest in a tea pot for themselves.

MY ancestors were Native American, so don't preach tolerance to me. My ancestors greeted most of yours.

What do you think about that?

Immigrants who become U.S. citizens typically pay more in taxes than do native-born Americans. Drawing upon data from the U.S. Census Bureau Current Population Survey, the CRS recently found that families with an adult, foreign-born, naturalized citizen actually have higher adjusted gross incomes-averaging $40,502-than families with U.S.-born citizens only ($35,249). The immigrants' taxable income average $32,585, compared with $27,076 for families with all native-born members. The federal taxes paid by families with naturalized citizen average $6,580 per year, compared with $5,070 for U.S. born-only families.

By conservative estimates, in 1997 immigrant households paid an estimated $133 billion in direct taxes to federal, state, and local governments.

Why exactly are sending money to Hamas who is quite open about trying to destroy us? Muslims are out in the open about trying to conquer the US and other western countries and either kill us all or force us to submit to slavery under Islam.

Isn't it time we shut down all the mosques in our country and forcibly deported these people? For God's sake we just caught them trying to bring about another 9/11, this time with the Sears Tower.

Isn't enough, ENOUGH already? These people can't co-exist with us. Their ridiculous cult of death and depravity won't let them.

"The corruption spreading from south of the border is not confined to Southern California," he writes. "In Cameron County, Texas, the former sheriff and several other officials were recently convicted of receiving drug-smuggling bribes. In Douglas, Ariz. – where the international border runs down the middle of the town and divides it from its sister city of Agua Prieta, Mexico – the mayor's brother was discovered to have a tunnel from one of his rental properties going into Mexico.

Imagine being in a group social situation where there are mostly English only speaking citizens. You are either a naturalized citizen from another country or an illegal alien who is bilingual. Would you feel totally comfortable speaking only your own language, without any thought for the others around you who might want to hear what you have to say. Doesn't it kinda set up a situation of disrespect? Doesn't this sort of behavior here in the USA come down to being rude? That is: "not sharing" with others? I know it isn't law in the US but it is an issue of respect and giving social respect to those who you are "in with." when you have the multilingual ability, to speak in the tongue of the country you are visiting or have newly become a citizen of?

The Senators kept adding language to the bill, example " consultation" with Mexican authorities before the agreed-upon fence is built. They shouldn't have any say on how we build our fence on our side of the border. Both of my senators in Calif are Democraps and yes I spelled it right, they both voted yes, when I called Boxers office to complain about the S.2611 they almost hung up on me. I will email Feinstein. But check out the similarites when you import poverty -

Britain doesn’t have a declining population — there are more births than deaths each year; it doesn’t have a declining workforce, largely because women’s retirement age is rising to 65 by 2020; as recognized by every authority from the Immigration Advisory Service to the United Nations and the European Commission, immigration is no “fix” for an ageing society, because immigrants grow old too; there are no generalized labor shortages, rather unemployment of 1.5 million; importing communities who are far more likely to claim all forms of benefit apart from pensions and disability allowances, and who can have startlingly high unemployment rates, does not make Britain a richer country. It is, in fact, importing poverty.

The Contras initially received financial and military support from the Argentine government and the U.S. through the CIA. Later the Contras received aid clandestinely from the US by the administration of US President Ronald Reagan.

A key role in the development of the Contra alliance was played by the United States following Ronald Reagan's assumption of the presidency in January 1981. Reagan accused the Sandinistas of importing Cuban-style socialism and aiding leftist guerrillas in El Salvador. On November 23 of that year, Reagan signed the top secret National Security Decision Directive 17 (NSDD-17), giving the Central Intelligence Agency the authority to recruit and support the Contras with $19 million in military aid. The effort to support the Contras was one component of the so-called Reagan Doctrine, championed by American conservatives, which called for providing U.S. military support to movements opposing Soviet-supported, communist-led governments.

In the Standard-examiner, B section, it is reported 600 disable state citizens may lose benefits. The state is $3.4 million short of what they need. Why are we spending so much on illegals and forgetting our own people's suffering.

On the front page of the same paper, the story is all about how a man who had been deported because he was illegal lost his Supreme Court fight to stay here. The writers of the story worked really hard to make us feel sorry for them....yet, where are the tears for 600 disable people who are U.S. Citizens? Our media is out of whack.....but it's OK for American Citizens to struggle. Just don't be mean to the poor illegals. Gimmeabreak!

By using someone else's social security number, illegals have broken the law for stealing someone else's identity destroying that persons history, and in many cases that social security owner winding with zero social security money put in for his pension, yet Ted Kennedy now wants to reward illegals for doing exactlly that, then everyone in prisons for similar crimes should not be discriminated because they are US citizens, and should be free

keep saying don't build a wall on the border, and that the only true Americans are the Native Americans? If the indians would have enforced their borders, we wouldn't be here either. To me, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to handle the illegal immigration issue. Just enforce the law.

I keep hearing the illegals saying that they come to this country because of the horrible things their president does, and allows to be done to them. Illegals say they are too afraid to stand up to the problem, and that is why they have come here. If Americans should have to fix thier problems, then we should be allowed to hunt down, and put this president on trial for the abusive manner in which he treats his people. They tell me that revolutions in this country has always been met with mass murder, so why are we not chasing down President Fox for these crimes against his people, like we did with Iraq. It would be easier to hunt him down, we already know where he is. I have heard all of the reasons as to why we went to Iraq, but I want to know why the same rules don't apply to Mexico's leader.

This is the way I see it, if pregnant women want to cross into our country illegally to have a baby that will be a citizen, that's fine. Once the baby is born, mom goes back to where ever they came from and the baby goes up for adoption. I think that would curb the pregnant illegal immigration. A lot of legal citizens want to adopt babies. All you pro illegal idiots, just leave this one alone, I don't want to hear from you.
