I say 'no mas'. Reversing the immigration trend from Mexico is going to take careful planning, open debate on the topic so ALL people realize It Really Is A Big Problem, and to gain support for what's going to happen. Business owners won't go quietly on this one, they'll be on bended knee extolling the virtues of people 'doing jobs that americans won't do', etc etc etc. The fake tears will flow, and Mexico will come up with another sob story of their own, they'll throw the race card at every turn, and chances are that some will only go back kicking and screaming. But, all that could be averted if Mexico would start openly asking its' people to 'come on home', and maybe provide bus tickets or something, it's not like they're broke or they couldn't work out some kind of deal with Greyhound or something, it's just that they know it's in Mexico's best economic interest(note the lack of concern for America's best economic interest, thre) to have as many of their citizens sending home money. We're talking 10's of billions here, the kind of numbers that turn politicians heads...
I'm all for a Congressional Shakedown for any payola that might be coming from this whole arrangement, too. And, catch the state level while you're at it, any politicians found that are personally enriching themselves at the taxpayer's expense by promoting and serving to harbor illegals in that state deserve to be marched across town in their state capitol to the courthouse...

The American People will be likely to take a stand that will send them back to their country anyway. Americans will stop supporting their businesses, and employing them, and that is already in the works.
This morning in my area three local businesses were shut down because the owners, were illegals using stolen Identification to operate their businesses. They might not have been so noticable except for the fact, that they hired only Mexicans, and did not uphold our equal opportunity employement laws. Not that anyone expects them to, they broke the law by crossing the border, stealing someone's identification, then allowing hundreds of thousand in back taxes to be billed to the people that they stole the identitiies from. All three of these illegals, are felons with more than three felonies committed.
However, they are out of business, and the Americans that reported them intend to keep it that way.
Welcome to Texas criminals, we have a bus ready to deport you.
Close your wallet America, if you don't want this criminal element in your country, take away what they came here for.
Being poor in America is far harder than being poor in Mexico.
If amnesty is giving the American people have promised a retaliation, that will make the illegal boycott look like play time.

If proficiency in English were a requirement prior to being granted amnesty assimilation would become a moot point. Any activity requiring legal status, i.e., voting, employment, etc. should only be available in English. If an individual is required to have legal status to partake of these things, they must know the language.

That is exactly what is happening. By coming in illegally, you are directly indicating you don't have any desire to do things right. In essence, you aren't (planning on) going to assimilate.
Rather foolishly they have made their statement in their recent public display of their position (THE march). They insist on continuing to speak (frequently) Spanish. They demand this or that and are not legal citizens. What foolishness. If they succeed, it is no ones fault but our own/or that of our Fed. Gov. ...for letting them do so. Send em' all back. (it can be done) If they want to be here so bad, they must inculturate. Speak English, swear allegiance to USA, pay taxes, obey our laws.
If after a taste of paying taxes etc. as illegals, they still want to come here, fine! Get in line along with the rest. Apply and be considered.

well many LEGAL immigrants refuse to assimilate. I live in the San Gabriel Valley and I see many Asians who refuse to assimilate and learn English well. My parents came to this country and learned the language and the heritage of this great country while not throwing away their roots.

Well...I think it is pretty clear that amnesty is out of the question. I for one want to live in a society of law abiding people with true Americans, not cheap imitations.
