This is the way I see it, if pregnant women want to cross into our country illegally to have a baby that will be a citizen, that's fine. Once the baby is born, mom goes back to where ever they came from and the baby goes up for adoption. I think that would curb the pregnant illegal immigration. A lot of legal citizens want to adopt babies. All you pro illegal idiots, just leave this one alone, I don't want to hear from you.

No. They are still illegal immigrants. maybe the mom should not get pregnant if she is afraid of raising a baby in poverty. what if the mom runs away with the baby after birth and stays in the US? How much would an naive idealist plan like this raise taxes? Where are the babies going, who says someone will dopt them. I am not for being illegal, If that is even what you mean, just right.

It is too bad that you dont want to hear from the opposition, we are here anyway! Are you suggesting that it would be better for the government pay to raise those children than their own parents? If the parents go, then the children go too. The child is a citizen and will get to come and go as they please. They cannot help the mother or father get even residency until they are 18 years old. Plus there are babies waiting to be adopted now, the government just makes it a little hard to go through all the channels.

Cute Idea! Tongue in cheek. One thing you have to admire about many of the illegals who come here, is that they do so for the benefit of their kids. Course, it's not fair to those of us who are citizens or others following the law.
The anchor baby concept is dated and needs to be rescinded directly. It can be reinstituted later once things are under control. It is ludicrous to give citizenship to an infant who needs care and then to ship the parent back to their native country cuz they are illegal.
When the gov. turns this crazyness around, their won't be nearly as many anchor babies cuz the illegals won't have any benefits or reason (jobs) to be here. Yah, maybe the fence will stop a few but the reasons they come are jobs and to get freebys. It's going to end for them soon. The party is over.

Personally I don't think American citizenship should even be given to a baby born here to an ILLEGAL immigrant, if the parents are here illegally. I don't think that is right, cause yes alot of ILLEGALS see that as a way to stay in the country, the parents and kids should both be deported.

I see your point, but I really think the only way we can solve this problem is to do away with the idiotic law that just because you're born on Amercan soil, you're a U.S. citizen. I think at least ONE of the parents need to be a U.S. citizen for the baby to become one too! I know a fellow in Ireland who is a U.S. citizen .. apart from having been born here when his parents were over studying, he has never set foot in the U.S. But U.S. citizen he is ... we really have to change that law!

Another thing ... what is there to stop for example Al Quaida to impregnate a lot of women ... let's say a thousand a month ... send them over here on tourist visas ... have their babies ... and stay ... I mean, there's no need for any war or bombs or anything like that to take over the U.S. ... give it another 10-20 years, and the original U.S. citizens will be in a minority ... scary ....

If I wasn't financially stable I wouldn't be having kids in the first place.
No, I don't think that an illegals child that is born here should be a citizen. That law needs changing!! That's like a reward also for breaking the law. Its crazy!!!

Anchor babies are just another abuse of the system and should not be allowed. Mainly anchor babies bring in government help , ie food stamps, welfare, etc, etc. Think they should be deported when release from the hospital. WE have our children here without anything while anchor babies get everything. Remember to vote

Anchor babies. Love that name. Reminds me of the Manger Babies from king of the Hill. Maybe we should outsource the Navy's demand for anchors to the INS. Hehe. Real anchors. I know that sounds cold, but it gets tiring watching two adults and twenty-seven children living in a shack waving a Mexican flag. They crap on our laws and then rub our noses in it.
