I'm guessing that it's some kind of childish way to show disrespect. I say that it's completely inappropriate and done by ignorant and unpatriotic "people." Regardless of politics, how does anyone justify such anti-American thinking and behavior?

The Patriot Act has several names these days, but it commonly referred to as "The Patriot Act." So any of you neocons who want to bring up a technical argument regarding the name I've used can just put that argument to rest right now.

With that said, is the Patriot Act illegal? Here is the text of the First Amendment of the United States of America's Constitution.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Based on the text of the First Amendment, am I a terrorist for disagreeing with Bush and wanting him impeached, prosecuted and imprisoned for treason?

Since the majority of the world (excluding all extremists from any religion or no relgion) want peace, why can we not exert influence for peace in the world.

Because Sunni's hate the Shia's and the Shia's hate the Sunni's and the Sunni's and Shia's hate the Kurds. Under Saddam's iron fist it was repressed. Iraq might have to split into 3 countries. Freedom has nothing to do with the bombings - freedom has allowed the hate to come out without fear of repraisals by Saddam's secret police. Don't blame freedom - blame "history", and they have a very long "history" over there. We have freedom in the US and you don't see car bombs going off over here every day do you? The Iraqi government has just taken over the Iraqi armed forces - let's see what happens from here. Admitted - things are a mess over there, but freedom is not the cause of the hate between the ethnic groups - its "history". Hopefully, things will improve shortly. The people are sick to death (literally) of the violence and the Iraqi's themselves will be the ones to fix this or let things slide into further chaos.

Personally, I do not think it is. I think we've got significant problems at home and when we get those problems solved, we can move towards solving Israels or the Middle Easts in general. Or, we could solve ALL the problems right now and ARREST and imprison every government official on the planet earth and start over with honest men and women as our leaders. Thoughts?

Labour MP John McDonnell, MP for Hayes and Harlington;
(BBC report, Friday, 8 September 2006, 00:32 GMT 01:32 UK )
"It's not safe in Westminster anymore. There's blood on the carpet all over the place.

"It's like watching an episode of the Sopranos. It's worse, it's like Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. There's an assassin round every corner in Westminster."

Official Investigations
The Various (Non)Investigations
Knowledgeable officials who were paying attention to the news on September 11th would have known by the end of the day that the events of that day included the following:

The largest failure in airport security, and first quadruple hijacking (with primitive weapons) in history.
Multiple and unprecedented failures to follow standard operating procedures in the interception of off-course aircraft.
The largest failure of the military to defend civilian life and property in the country's history.
The failure to defend two of the most recognized terrorist targets despite adequate warning times...

The FEMA WTC Building Performance Study
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was the government entity that appeared to be in charge in the "cleanup" of Ground Zero. Although responsibility for investigating the World Trade Center destruction seemed to default to FEMA, the agency seemed to function primarily to prevent investigation. The only people let in were people with blowtorches and heavy equipment. Taking photographs, even from the periphery, was prohibited.
