Because Sunni's hate the Shia's and the Shia's hate the Sunni's and the Sunni's and Shia's hate the Kurds. Under Saddam's iron fist it was repressed. Iraq might have to split into 3 countries. Freedom has nothing to do with the bombings - freedom has allowed the hate to come out without fear of repraisals by Saddam's secret police. Don't blame freedom - blame "history", and they have a very long "history" over there. We have freedom in the US and you don't see car bombs going off over here every day do you? The Iraqi government has just taken over the Iraqi armed forces - let's see what happens from here. Admitted - things are a mess over there, but freedom is not the cause of the hate between the ethnic groups - its "history". Hopefully, things will improve shortly. The people are sick to death (literally) of the violence and the Iraqi's themselves will be the ones to fix this or let things slide into further chaos.

I see you answered your own question. I like it. I get sad about the poor kids over there that are brought up in that kind of environment. Can you imagine, being a little child, and instead of toys, you get bullets? I fear that once those little ones grow up, there is going to be at least one whose hatred will manifest into something truly evil. It only takes one. It only took one Hitler to eradicate 6 million people. One Josef Stalin to systematically kill his own people.

Hey... Iraqi sunni and shiia lived along quietly since long time ago. Saddam is the one who has created this hatred. And unfortunately Iraq surrounded by terrible neighbors Iran, Syria, Saudia, Kuwait which none of them wants Iraqis to live in peace, people of Iraq became victims of the blasts, terrorists, suicidal even politics….. and let's not forget that "Politics is DIRTY"
