No. Class is Bush's categorization, not race. He has zero compassion for any but the very, very rich.

Well, one thing you can be sure of is that a natural disaster of this magnitude has not occurred in a very long time, and Bush's administration could not be prepaired.

I think what really happened is that a lot of people did not attempt to evacuate, out of having a lack of money and ability to carry all of the things that they have accumulated throughout their life. Not everyone expected that the hurricane would cause such complete and immense disaster.

It's sorta like if you saw a friend trip on a banana, then fall down a fleight of stairs, and break his teeth on the banister; you were probably just sitting there shocked that it even went down like that. After you probably gave them a bit of help, but it wasnt enough to make up for what happened.

I don't think that his lack of assistance was solely due to race, though it does seem a VERY easy conclusion to reach because there were so many african americans in the photographs of the aftermath. It is very difficult to prove, however, that Bush's racism directly contributed to this. Bush takes very little direct responsibility for anything.

How could one man be responsible for this? Be sensible. He did not do a rain dance to start the hurricane; he did not fly in and dynamite the levies. He could not possibly personally oversee all the many relief efforts that went on. How about those closest to the problem, the mayor and govenor, and yes the people too. Why did they all wait to get out and/or provide help to those who physically could not. I think the reverse chain of command is most at fault, beginning with the mayor, then the govenor etc. If Bush was an evil man who wanted to kill people, why has he approved so much aid to help the victims? I think the liberal media has tried to use the misery of the unfortunate victims for political gain.

Absolutely not ! And Jim Jamb provided the most Moronic response anyone could dream up. The problem was with the Mayor and the Governor. How could the Pres respond to such a horrific event. The Mayor and the Gov had a week's notice and still made minimal preparations. Way too much welfare going on in New orleans, especially by the thugs and gang members. SCREW 'EM !

Absolutely not. The hurricane was a year ago. There is some progress being made. The government has spent a ton of money on it and has been taken for a ride by some of the "victims." There is plenty of information available on both the hurricane and the federal response to it.

I fairly doubt that President Bush could enable racism impact his reaction to Katrina. the subsequent element you will hear is that Bush conjured up Katrina and made it hit New Orleans. there are maximum of different areas of the gadget that failed. The mayor of latest Orleans or maybe the Governor of Louisiana knew that the typhoon replaced into coming and can have arranged for it. in certainty that the people have been ordered to circulate away the city in spite of the fact that they did no longer prefer to circulate away their abode. Even after the typhoon people nevertheless did no longer prefer to circulate away their abode. i individually particularly sense for the people of latest Orleans yet i think of that it's time to recover from it and rebuild. anybody can take a seat and whinge approximately what handed off in spite of the fact that it takes a particular individual to comprehend that it handed off and it needs to be fixed. i do no longer prefer to sound like a jerk yet i think of that some people stayed in the process the typhoon so that they might loot abandoned shops and homes.

I don't believe that Bush is solely responsible for anything that happens. There are thousands of people working on situations like that.

We don't have a dictatorship here. He doesn't make a lot of the decisions. He has very brilliant people, who know what they're doing, make those decisions.

And by the way, what could he have done to be racist anyway? Do people think that he just conjured up a hurricane or something?

I am from New Orleans. I truly know that everyone was caught with their pants down. Both Dems' and Repubs' parties are saying it's the others fault. Blacks say that it whites, whites say that it is blacks, etc. In the end, people want to blame someone. To get to the point and answer the question, Bush's response was not because he is 'racist'. There is just to many chiefs and not enough indians, you know? This is why this cleaning up and rebuilding has/is taken so long.

No. I don't think Bush looked at how many black people were living in New Orleans and then based his decisions on that. I just think we need better plans in place to deal with catostrophic events like Katrina and the response time would improve greatly.

No.Racism is not the cause of every single bad thing that happens to black folks. The incompetence started at the local level (mostly black and Democrat by the way)and kept going all the way up to FEMA.All of these people and organizations are not racist. Not to mention the wisdom of staying in a city below sea level protected only by levees with a major hurricane coming in.

I tend to think it was just pure incompetence. The same problem would have arisen no matter where...or who...Katrina hit. The government....FEMA, in particular....had a scenario that showed pretty much what would happen in N.O. if a Cat-4 hurricane hit, but they still weren't prepared to respond.
