Why can't they just tell you in the most simple terms on what exactly will happen if it passes and what will happen if it fails?

here in ohio we are voting on smoking issues and both confuse me.

then we have this other issue about money going to schools, and they don't say that only 22% of it will go to the kids. why don't they tell you everything? is it so people will vote differently if they don't let everyone know what will happen?

Bush's only campaign appearances this year have been before paying audiences, guaranteed to clap like trained seals at whatever rubbish he spouts. Is he afraid an undecided member of the public might ask an uncomfortable question? Or does he realise there's no point in trying to persuade anyone to vote GOP who isn't already converted?

About 50% of Americans are over the age of 18. About 50% of those are registered to vote. About 50% of those actually show up regularly to vote. Couple those loose statistics to the issues of Diebold's possible tinkering, the US Supreme Court's intervention in lieu of a recount, claims of graveyard votes, illegal immigrants, etc. What say you the jury?

I voted on a touch screen in Texas on early voting. And I was surprised to learn there was no paper trail of my vote. And that there was a backup on the votes, but in the same computer that is the touch screen's server.. This doesn't make any sense to me. Have you ever lost all your computer on a crash hard drive and all?
Just because a network is not linked to the internet, doesn't mean that network cannot be tampered, hacked, or changes made. In fact that is exactly is what is going to happen.
Does my Vote Count? Yes for whoever can get the computers to register it. But I will never know for sure that my vote went to the real canidate that I voted for.

For every working American and the (unearned American) accounting time comes April 15th.
Why cannot the 1040 Form etc. etc.... be used and incorporated with political elections. After all, politics and revenues work hand in (glove). The Internal Revenue Service would truly become the largest accounting service in the world.

It seems that there is alot of mudslinging in these political campaigns, and I can't seem to get any information without a democrat/republican/liberal/conservative bias!

Is there a site that just gives the facts? For example, what bills each senatorial or congressional candidate voted on? What their basic principles are?

Please, no smart*ss or agenda-based answers, please.

Who do you think will be the democratic candidate? Who do you think will be the next president? Don't you agree the US needs to be more independent and not a 2 party system that does not work so well?
