Elections - October 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

As long as the government isn't grabbing for 'certain' private purposes.

Is the government allowed to take private property now for private purposes? In other words, would this prop be restricting such activities, or actually granting such activities? Does anybody know?

They say it will stop consideration for things based on gender, ethniticity, etc. However, one of the debate points is that it will stop help to things like teen pregnancy and breast cancer research (cause those are 'women's causes'.) Is this true that it will ban programs that address medical issues?

& secretary of state in charge of elections, is now trying to steal his own election. Blackwell, a black republican, disenfranchised many blacks in 04 through tossing out their registrations, purging voter rolls, causing lines of 2-5 hours, etc.

He is now up to his dirty tricks again. Since he is trailing 20 points behind the deomocrat for governor, he has recently pulled some stunts, tossing up to a million voters off the roles (mostly democrats and blacks) for a minor tecnicality on driver's licences..plus more.

This is 10% of all Ohio voters..I think it is cause the election is rigged for payback from Bush for his Katherine Harris roll & this is a distraction (his smear campaign on the former minister dem) to expalin away why the dem with a 20 point lead will suddenly lose on election day. Read the sad tale.

After all, political mudslinging has effectively disenfranchised the masses in the ability to make lucid decisions based on half-facts and half-truths.

Electorial system in practicality is ‘filibustered’.

We should leave it to the elite (academic, business, community leaders) and morally upright to represent us in the vote.

A vote on vote system of upcoming elections: Republicans, Democrats or Abstention.

to double check that the official results are accurate by voting on a paper copy of official ballot secretly and signing a noterized statement that this is the same way you actually just voted inside and then put it in a transparent locked ballot box for public counting later.

At 50-60% participation, it is much higher accuracy than traditional exit polls that only ask 2-25% of the voters.

what party are you and would you participate if approached at the polls election day..why or why not?

At least from what I've seen, Obama seems like the best potential presidential candidate to come along in many years. But do you think his name is going to ruin his chances for election?

I have a feeling that the Democrats are in for a major disappointment. The problem is that one of the main motivators is a sort of euphoria that finally they are going to get rid of the Republicans. So the spin doctors try to feed this euphoria with bogus polls, etc. Then when reality sets in and nothing really changes, the Dems will be very very upset, and will throw a tantrum. They will probably demand vote re-counts etc. All the peices are in place. I think this whole deal with the Stem Cell research is going to backfire, because they lose credibility with this issue. Stem Cell research does not require an aborted fetus, but they are trying to use this playing card before everyone figures that out, but I think the gig is up with the Stem Cell research.

I saw in TV today that the Vietnamese stock market is up over 100 percent in the last year. What I don't understand is why that is possible when they are a communist nation? Apparently, communism can be made to work especially when capitalistic nations are in such a hurry to dole out jobs to low-wage areas. It seems to me that there was some communist who predicted such a thing. He said that eventually the capitalists would sell out their people because of greed. It sure looks like it is happening.
