hey, people call me an uncle tom because i tend to side with white people. But recently i have been seeing that a lot of people don't like Mexicans because of immigration. So, i'm planning on going to Mexico and overthrow the corrupt mexican government. Take all my people back over there and leave the U.S. (god bless America). Then can we be cool. Can't we all just get a long???

I just had a democrat (my party) argue with me in the most polite way, and just had a republican complement me and say that I helped our country. I'm not important.
What is is the two people's actions (not them personally) which speaks to our ability to discuss things without the nonsense like name-calling, spreading unfounded rumors, or treating each other as "guilty until proved innocent", let alone things like sedition (which isn't always the same thing as the previous three, but sometimes is). What a place this could be if we all spoke up against the latter and supported the former!

What a place. I'm really honored to be part of this group. I'm far from a major participant, being a daddy and all (baby says, "Hi"!), but I've never been treated like I should leave (I don't do that either, saying, "But please keep speaking up", and recently, due to someone brave and kind enough to correct me, "...but sedition is better than silence".

What do you think. Should we all be proud?

We all know and should know of the Criticism that the present
and Mass system representation gets; The ancient Greeks
talked of selecting politicians by RANDOM SELECTION;but
they werent as "advanced" as us(!). As now(and rejecting the
insane and criminals),do you think that our fast and reliable
computors could help choose an ordinary, non expert to be
a so-called high flying and so-called moral POLITICIAN.
I do think it could work, for nearly all of us have to not only live
within the laws here but also have to manage a budget.
So, how about it; women, disabled people, orange persons
and saintly heroins all; Could it work? Would we all be more
likely to back and even die for a country and government, who,
like us try their best to be reasonable, peaceable and moderate,(like john and jane Doe at the supermarket!).

Please don't make false claims about how Canadians hate their healthcare in your answer.

You can ask Canadians on here about what they think, like this:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Akn3.zxJSCQc6gMUMQ1BNjbty6IX?qid=20070623225538AAcdktp

Also, do not make these same false claims against the French, The English, Cubans or any other civilized nation with socialized healthcare. It is flat-out NOT true.

Please restrict your answer to whether it would be GOOD for United States citizens and whether you think we would vote for it.

It's obvious that individual privacy and liberty are destroying America.

Freedom of speech is perhaps our greatest enemy.

When will we rid ourselves of that terrible piece of paper called the U.S. Constitution?

I see more and more democrats and republicans avoiding name calling, expressing their protest and support of the war in respectful ways, avoiding rumor-mongering while asking pointed questions, and treating our politicians as "innocent until proved guilty" instead of the other way around.
I see people who insult and make up things getting lots of thumbs down, and lots of responses telling them what people dislike about their approach.
I see people putting their country first, and their ideology second, regardless of their side, and not treating the other half of the country as the enemy as much as fellow Americans whom we disagree with on how best to help America.

"Hating America" doesn't seem to be "cool" anymore. I wished for this. I seem to be seeing it. Am I mistaken?

Indian is the greatest living example "participatory democracy". But due to various reasons people do not go out and exercise their franchise on the day of elections. But they keep on voicing vocifarously about lack of sincerity in administering the State. These complaints are not attended to by service providers. In order to make people to take active part in participatory democracy an elected representative has created a e.governance website with online complaints monitoring system, for the first time, in India with website www.rajajinagara.kar.nic.in. Yahoo worshippers are invited to give their views through the suggestions window in the home page. The site provides nice photos of folklore of Karnataka and its heritage in the photo gallery.

I just heard Wolf Blitzer announce that 2000 trailers left over from Katrina were going to Native American Tribes. I'm sorry, I don't have anything against the Sovereign Nations here in America heaven knows they've endured their share, but aren't they somewhat self sustained. Why are we "giving" these homes to them and why not to 2000 homeless Americans? I just don't get it... someone enlighten me without telling me how lazy and unwanting of help the homeless are because that is crap and you already know it.

Regardless of the number of candidates or their shortcomings, Americans cannot expect to be adeqately represented if they are not willing to study the candidates and let their voices be heard in the voting booth.
I can still remember the first time I voted. It is not only a duty, but it is a privilege and your vote does matter. One vote may not sway an election. However, one vote, plus another vote, plus millions of votes will win one.
Few of us will ever be fortunate enough to have the honor of serving our country in government as an elected official, so it behooves us to vote for those who most closely reflect our ideals, beliefs, and opinions.

Isn't this our right as a democracy to tell the government when they are wrong and to act when they don't comply? Would a petition be needed.

Lets overthrow the government and start from scratch.

This Jessie Davis. issue has a real Scott Peterson similarity. Bobby Cutts is the only one with a motive to kill her. He's a cop and knows how to hide a crime. Actually Bobby Cutts has a bigger motive than Peterson did. He's married, already was faced with childsupport, etc. He did it. He can't account for where he was during the time in question.

Whenever i see a large group of people protesting anything, i find myself hoping that the police arrest them all. Important issues like Darfur are being ignored because these people think their opinion justifies violence.

Some will say "don't put money before lives" but these people are putting their idologies before their own lives and you want us to support that?

How can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you storm a political meeting and demand that your ideas be taken seriously?

When you blame EVERYTHING on MacDonalds, Coke, or Israel it gets kind of old. When you analyze any of the controversies, you usually find that Big Business is the lesser of two evils.

For example, in the Columbian Coke union killings no one ever mentions that this is tied to the 40 year civil war that's been pitting marxists (unions) against the government. The war was started by the marxists.
