I am fed up with my tax dollars paying for those damn public libraries!!!! My taxes are too da mn high! I don't use libraries, only people who use libraries are those too cheap to pay for internet and to buy books! These people are sponging off my hard work!

Reasonable solution is to have Library Manintainance Organizations (LMO's) where those who want to pay for a library can have it. And of course, the LMO executives will deserve to get paid $2 milion a year or more.

I hate smoking, and I can't wait until the ban starts in England. But I still don't think we are doing enough. Putting the prices up isn't effecting anyone, they are addicted, they don't care about the price! Whats your thoughts?

As long as an individual has not been convicted of a serious offence or is not mentally ill then he/she must serve on a jury in the UK if summoned.

I have recently completed my jury service at Canterbury Crown Court and I was absolutely horrified at the behaviour of some of the other jurors.

The case I was on lasted three weeks and two jurors took every Friday off 'sick' meaning that the trial was halted for three days at a cost of £10,000 a day to the tax payer and when we came to deliberate only four of us actually deliberated on the case with the other jurors being more interested in discussing their summer holiday plans and the state of the football premier league.

Should there be improved selection procedures to ensure that only responsible people are chosen to serve on juries or should the status quo be allowed to continue.

The following link provides additional examples of the unsuitability of many jurors:

The Peoples Initiative To STOP The War!
That's 8:00 am in whatever time zone you happen to be in.
Like a wave from the East Coast,
To the shores of the West.
With the will of the People riding it's crest.
It will happen at the grassroots,
It will be seen at the top!
Let's tell this President ,
THIS WAR IT MUST........STOP!
So in the middle of rush hour,
or wherever you are.
(The slow pace of rush hour,
is the safest by far.)
Hold up a sign or something,
Let's put a Stop to this War!

quote:(ap wire) Barack Obama said his campaign made a "dumb mistake" ... criticizing rival Hillary's financial ties to India.
1.) What specifically does "unneccessarily caustic" mean? when your revealing to the american public that the clinton's invested in india and recieved 300k in graft from a company involved in outsourcing.
2.)Why does he have to be "more careful" about communicating? whats wrong with the electorates right to know?

quote 2.
what we can do is make sure we have a government that's looking out for our workers," Obama said. "We can do more to create a government that's creating quality jobs here in America,

WHEN DID GOVERNMENT EVER CREATE ANY NON CIVIL SERVICE JOBS? ITS NOT THE THEIR ROLE TO EMPLOY BUSINESS DOES THAT!
3.) When does the govt. look out for workers? Considering the clintons largest tax increase in us history, shouldnt workers beware of that?

All republicans should go register as Dems. before the primary. Then we can vote for two of their CRAPPIEST canidates.

When the actual election comes, we vote for Thompson (or who ever is the best Republican Canidate).

Dr. Kalam is a world renowned scientist, bachelor, quite above board without any political bias. He has acquitted himself quite well and if he could be prevailed upon to continue (of course, by consensus as he rightly said) will assuage political bickerings. Needless to say, it is advisable to have a non-political figure with eminent stature to be the constitutional head of the government of a country, particularly India, where political peace and tranquility are the need of the hour, to march forward with rapid economic reforms, political reforms not to mention! It is only then and then alone that the dreams of our founding fathers--remained a far cry till today--could be put on the rails leading to the destination of realisation some day in the future! "Don't wish for the change, be the change yourself," as Gandhiji said. Though we claim we are a free, independent country, did we ever taste 'freedom' as such to improve our lot, except the freedom to fight among ourselves?

In India prominent NGOs n Human Rights Commission do not fight for justice for the people of India but are pro Grovernment , is'nt it strange ! We are a Democratice country i.e rule by the people , for the the people and of the people and these institutions are made to help the mankind but they help the unjustice . Dose it happen in other countries too ? May be Yes ! we have seen volation of Human Rights currently during the Iraq War and no one could do anything against US to avoid the situation - why can't we have a stronger and independent ORGANISATION really working for the benefit of the mankind ? Can we have people joing this movement for betterment of human beings at all levels ?
