wow i would love to see libraries privatized. They are inconvenient, rarely used by most of the public, under stocked and way to liberal. They would run probably with no noticable change if the job were done by volunteers and donations.
i know someone will say "what about the poor inner city kid?" He can buy a bag of books at good will for a couple dollars or so.

Why would you be against libraries? In terms of government waste, libraries are NOT your enemy. In fact, my guess is you could probably use some more time in a library. Books, they do a brain good...
Oh and that's sad you think people who use libraries are just too cheap to buy their own books or use the internet. Why should I buy a book that I can borrow? How many trees do you want to cut down for your wastefulness?
It's okay, I know books threaten you, but they really aren't the boogie monster, emmkay?
I'd rather my tax dollars go toward building libraries where there are none, than to funding unnecessary wars across the globe. Maybe if people did more reading, they'd learn what the word "diplomacy" means and try it.

The great thing about libraries is they democratize knowledge. Everyone has access to the library and everyone can improve themselves reading the books that are contained there.
Get rid of a library and raise a generation of illiterate children. Get rid of a library and rob a community of a place to learn without having to pay for it.
If you are serious, you need to reconsider. If you are being sarcastic then... ha ha!

Right on! If people want books, they should buy them. When the government gets a hold of things, they only screw it up. I'm tired of these socialist/communist liberals corrupting libraries. Our libraries are being abused by lazy people on welfare who are too lazy to get jobs.
We should privatize libraries like health care. that way I would have to call ahead of time to reserve a book, wait in a waiting room, then get charged $150 just to see the book. That is a better system.

You are funny!
I am tired of my tax dollar going to a lot of places, like the war in Iraq! I don't get to pick and chose! Some places don't have libraries, so move to one of them!
Everyone can't afford a computer and the Internet you know!

You haven't thought your idea through. It may give you more satisfaction just to burn them all down and then make libraries illegal. Wealthy Republicans could order their books from Amazon and have Rush, O'Reilly, and Hannity tell the less fortunate what they need to know.
