No I don't care. Easy to be judgemental when you sit on the sidelines...... and someone else is calling the plays , building the team, and taking the hits isn't it?

All they care about is getting their share of US aid.....$$$$$$$$$

What other countries think of America will be irrelevant to us if and only if America lives up to its true values. Attempting to spread democracy by starting wars has NEVER worked and has created many enemies for all who have tried.

I care very deeply about what I think of my country. All countries are made up of people and the history of nations is full of terrible mistakes. The USA is not an exception. We have a history filled with wonderful accomplishments and terrible mistakes which have hurt others and ourselves.

As an individual I do care about what others think of me, but I care much more about what I think of myself. Am I honest, kind, strong, and caring or am I dishonest, cruel, weak and careless? Some days I am honest, some not. I hope the good in me outweighs the bad.

If America strives to be the best nation it can be, we will truly be able to be proud and many other nations will be with us. If we stand alone, it will be because we have strayed from our values, become selfish and vain, causing ourselves to be isolated. Lately, I have been very disappointed. 80% of Americans believe we are on the wrong track, especially in Iraq.

Yes I care and no I don't want to live any place else! The USA depends on the cooperation of other nations for many essential things. It is necessary to have positive relations with other countries.

Well thought out answer Becky, but I still don't care what any other country thinks about us.

I don't care personally. I've lived abroad with indoctrinated American-haters and I know the mentality is backward. But I do care intensely that people, mostly our allies, spread mindless hatred about Americans. I'll humiliate them and call them on their bigotry every time because it does shape this world.

::I always admire your posts, quarterback.
Although, I didn't meet a 10 to 1 ratio that weren't anti-American. More like 99.9% were and it had nothing to do with our politics. And I lived in 'ally' countries. LIke Blair said, it's just ignorant trendy anti-Americanism, but it causes hatred. People are killing us because of that hatred.

It is in our long term strategic interests to care what other countires think of us. They will enjoy increasing opportunities to conduct trade with the nations of their choice. Our current technological advantage will shrink (China will become #1).

People conduct trade with people they like if all things are roughly equal. When they think the dolars they export to the US are primarily funneled into citizen surveillance and tracking or more high tech weapons that are two generations ahead of anyone else....they see us a bully who is more offensive minded than defensive minded.

Nobody likes bullies.

I am rather Machiavellian about it. I would prefer they fear us more than respect us. You see fear is a great motivator, if they fear us our agenda will move quickly to the top of their agenda.

Seriously, who cares what they think, it is meaningless. I spent 8.5 months in LDCs this year, and you know what, they love AMericans, more specifically they love our money but if they do not love us we will not give them some of our money. So same thing.

Europe, who cares what they think, they have given their countries to islamofascists and soon we are going to have to go over their and save them once again.

What would happen to Europe if we did not bail them out of their socialist garbage? I think we should annex them, you know make them part of the USA.

Its ignorant not too. The survival of mankind is dependent on an working international relationships. Oil, food, services and other goods effect the way we live, and without healthy intra-country relationships, the way we live today wouldn't be possible.

Not especially. For starters, how do we really and truly know what they think of us? All we know is what the media tells us they think, which could be either exactly on-target or laughably false. And really it doesn't matter. We are who we are, so why should we change just because some other kid on the playground doesn't like how we look?

yes i care to a point.
we need allies, everyone does.
i care about our reputation and in some ways we are looked down upon. sometimes we're given an unfair critism and I don't care about that. I care about correcting bad assumptions about us. I care about correcting bad policies that make people look down on us.
