Many people gain a little incite into what party that most caters to them and than simply follows party line. Defending the ones elected in there party to the death regardless of what happens.

Neither - I think that it is brain washing from the parties which has instilled fear that if they don't follow party lines, the ideals will not be honored.

In a sense, it's both. Sometimes a candidate will run in the whatever party to get some recognition from the masses vs. some of the lesser known 3rd parties. In this Presidential primaries, I only see one choice. The only one that supports the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The only one sticking to it and defending individual liberties and supports the freedoms lost in the last 6 or so years. That would be Ron Paul.

If doesn't make it past the primaries, I know for a fact that this country will go down the drain, and tyranny will prevail. But yes, most people will follow blindly behind whatever candidate suits them best, regardless of the downsides of him/her. Never digging into what they actually stand for and what they intend to do once elected. That's where the stupidity comes in. Loyalty is the determined cause for a greater life and following with your heart knowing everything possible about whoever you want in office, will do what they promised.

Personally, I have never believed in following a party line. it is stupid. I am usually an Independent. I voted for Ross Perot the first time around, then when I saw the way Republicans were hounding Clinton and realized what a good job he did as President despite all this, I voted for him the second term. I voted for Ronald Reagan, too.

I like to use my own intelligence, my own common sense in trying my best to pick the best candidates. Currently, I think the Republicans have caused complete chaos beyond redemption and will vote to remove them.

ITS STUPID
we need more choices
we need someone with new ideas not just what there party wants you to think
we need a new ROSS PEROT not Ross but someone like him
Maybe NYC Mayor Bloomberg maybe he says what he means and does it
he fixes the problem and tells it like it is
self made Billion knows how the world works and is now and Independent
Called himself a Republican but supported many democrats and is very liberal on some things
He is rich so he can't be bought
that seems like the best choice right now

I believe that it is stupid.. it is irresponsible and morally reprehensible to do that.

It is our responsibility a a voter to understand what's important to us, what's important to the country and vote with our conscience. We have candidates today on both party that do not fully represent the party line, why are we still voting them? If there's a republican candidate that stands for the issue that I stand for and doesn't do that bad of job in others, I'll vote for that candidate! If there's liberal candidate that fits the same criteria, I don't see why a conservative voter can't vote for a liberal candidate.

I think it is the blind faith that is bad for this country.

Definitely stupid...

I'm torn between two Democrats and a Republican right now... but I can only vote in the democratic primaries... because that's how I'm registered.
So if my guy doesn't win in the Rep primary, then that is one less that I have to choose from.

Besides, you don't always know people's affiliation for the things that really matter... like Judges on the local level.

Loyalty is not unconditional. Loyalty is based on respect and consistency.

Voting for a party no matter what is based on being an idiot.

Loyalty will only get you so far in life. Stupidity on the other hand will get this country no where.

in the case of the liberals like the pelosi/reid regime neither. its simply not paying attention to history and the disastrous effect of liberals on national policy and the economy. everywhere else i think its just apathy or disinterest.
