I love them both and don't ban anyone for their way of thinking, even if it's different than mine. Heck, I still listen to Toby Keith even though I don't like his views.

Dixie Chicks are a prime example of how stars should be held accountable for their actions. Regardless of their talent they alienated their fan base and thus are no longer heard on country radio.

So often entertainment stars seek to use their celebrity to push a political agenda and then feel its unfair when people criticize them for it. The freedom they have to speak their mind is the same right that is being exercised by people who refuse to listen to them anymore. They were never censored, the free market dictated that they were no longer capable of driving revenue in the country market place and thus they no longer get played.

I like their music but I have to wonder how smart they are. They are alienating their mostly conservative fan base when they say some of the stupid things they say. The little fat one needs to just shut up. I guess I should answer the rest of your question, no I don't like that top 40 country crap. They are all little boys and girls dressed up in their little cowboy suits, pretending that it is not pop music with an occasional fiddle and slide guitar mixed in. I like the old country music that you could still dance to (with a girl), not that line dancing crap.

I hate Country Music. Period. I don't care who sings it.
The only Dixie Chicks song I particularly hate is the Stevie Nicks song that they hyper-twanged up -- Landslide. That was a soft rock song, sung by the one and only Stevie Nicks.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you're gonna sing someone else's song, by all means, DON'T MESS with it, if it's already perfect.

Other than that, all country and C&W music su... er... is disliked by me. ;-)

I like some country music. But, the DC's are on my liberal bs banned list. They really do need to shut up and sing.
