I am angry that I never received a phone call before an attorney took over. They claim they only reach me through postal mail, but obviously that did not work. Apparently, there was even a court date (which I did NOT know about). I was not aware that my account was being handed over to an attorney otherwise I would have tried to pay my debt sooner. Now, I have attorneys fees added to what I originally owed. There has been a lawsuit filed according to the attorney's office. I do not know the details because I was only informed of this via voicemail because I called them to find out what was going on with my account. Also, I'm wondering whether I should get myself a lawyer. Is it possible I won't have to pay the attorney fees already incurred? I cannot afford this at all.
I appreciate any answers that can help me.
Thank you!

OK, so I got my graduate photos samples, but I realized that the company is charging almost $200 for 4 photos, so I decided to remove the watermark on the sample and print the photo myself. Now, my friend is asking me to do the same thing for them. I am now thinking about charging them and print the photo myself. Is it legal to remove the watermark on the sample? Isn’t my photo with my face on it?Now can it be copyright of the company?

Then the AP had to report what it cost to run the RR everyday the ship is at sea. Why is that important? Do they have to report how much a fire truck costs every time it goes out to a fire? What is the AP trying to say? Isn't it the job of the Navy to help and prevent people as well as our country? What about when a submarine rescues filippino fisherman during a storm? Is cost a matter for discussion?

An Illinois teenager whose appendix ruptured at sea, hundreds of miles from help, got safely to shore Tuesday after an unusual rescue in which the Navy airlifted her from a cruise ship for emergency surgery.
Laura Montero, 14, of Albion, Ill., fell ill aboard the Dawn Princess cruise ship off the coast of Baja California. The Bahamian-registered ship sent out a distress call Friday that was answered by the USS Ronald Reagan, which was on training maneuvers about 500 miles away.

This question arises from an old issue of the National Geographic I was leafing through the other day, and I'd like to pose to you the same question that was asked of the soldiers, sailors and airmen in that ten-year-old article.

You are approached one day by a senior Officer, let's say a Colonel. If you're retired he comes to your house, if you're serving he catches you during a quiet five minutes on base.

He tells you that he's looked at your files and that he'd like to, with your permission, put your contact details down in his notebook in case he needs someone with your qualities to take part in a little off-the-books, provate military work in the future; all strictly hush hush, but you'd get paid £/$ 10k for a weeks' work no questions asked...a one-off mercenary mission basically, perhaps years from now.

You know he is being genuine.

What would you, personally, do? Give him your details? Say no, thanks, and walk away....or report him to the MPs?

Thick black smoke billowed from a fire Wednesday on the White House compound in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The blaze appeared to be located in Vice President Dick Cheney's suite of ceremonial offices on the second floor of the building. Executive Office Building, a commanding structure with a granite, slate and cast iron exterior at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 17th Street, houses staff of the National Security Council and other agencies.

Is it just coincidence that plastic, as in video tape, burns with a thick black smoke?

Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Immigrants' rights activists plan to march in central Phoenix this morning to protest plans to change the city's police policy on dealing with illegal immigrants.

The leader of the activists, Salvatore Reza, said he expects about 100 people to march the six miles from Pruitt's Furniture, at 36th Street and Thomas, to City Hall downtown, beginning at 9 a.m. A group favoring a crackdown on illegal immigrants said it would send about 20 people to City Hall.

Pruitt's has become the lightning rod for a battle over immigrants' rights since the owner asked the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office earlier this year to disperse day laborers who gather in the area. Reza has led protests outside the furniture store every Saturday.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio assigned deputies to today's march.

``We'll have our SWAT team standing by because of this march, and we'll have a bigger force out there than we usually do." Arpaio said. ``We're not going out there and arrest the protesters unless they violate the law. We're going out there to enforce the law, to protect businesses in that neighborhood, especially Pruitts that has been intimidated and has a rought time because of all these demonstrations and this immigration situation."

He said the immigrants' rights activists are not accomplishing anything.

``They're not going to get anything done. What have they proven? They've been in front of Pruitts trying to destroy a private business. All they've done is agitate people."

Arpaio said Reza has said the protesters will hang around until the sheriff leaves the Pruitts area.

``Well, the sheriff is not going, he's not going to tell me how to enforce the law," Arpaio said.

Today's march is not expected to affect traffic. Marchers told police they plan to stick to the sidewalk. Police said they will be on hand to make sure everything stays peaceful.

Today's march stems from Mayor Phil Gordon's action early this month, appointing a four-member panel to consider changes in Phoenix Police policy which currently bans officers from questioning people they stop about their citizenship status. Reza and others claim that authorizing such questions would lead to racial profiling.

Meanwhile, the head the police union is questioning a comment that Police Chief Jack Harris made to The Arizona Republic. Harris, who says his officers do not have time to make immigration enforcement their top priority, was quoted as saying, ``Do you want me to take the people that were working the Goudeau (Baseline Killer suspect) case and have them chase corn vendors?" Union lead Mark Spencer said the use of ``corn vendor" was reprehensible and only serevs to agitate and inflame the issue. http://ktar.com/?nid=6&sid=678240

It has been three days since a snow storm, and my lazy neighbor (who owns a corner house) hasn't touched the long stretch of snow that is now glazed over with ice. It is dangerous, and I have to go in the street to walk my dog. I know this probally varies in different towns, but is there a legal requirement in yours? What happens if they don't shovel their snow?

Um, I was wondering I have heard rumors about lining your clothes, purses, bags, etc. with aluminum foil, will disrupt the detectors so that you can steal. Is that true? Or myth?
The reason I am asking is because, for one, in colorado, its illegal for anyone to bring aluminum foil in to the stores because of theft, and they are also putting dectors to detect aluminum foil. Also, I read numerous articles about it. And according to them it really does work... I just was wondering if someone could tell me first hand or by experience! Thanks.

I had to reask this question. Bcause I put it under fashion, well, honestly I dont think they know.

I have been watching the devistating effects of NAFTA in America, Mexico and Canada for the past 12 years. It has created huge profits for corporations as it pushed people into poverty from all three countries. Yet, our candidates stand at their platforms during debates and tell people NAFTA works. In your opinion, do we really need to sacrifice a few generations or more or can trade policies be fixed to benefit all? Which candidates in both parties have the best solutions?
