It is important to win Iowa, and / or New Hampshire because this is the first time that we will see who has survived and who has not . It means more campaign financing and contributions for the candidate as he or she will battle on Super Tuesday as well as the big states of California , Texas and New york and Florida. Momentum is very important for a candidate especially heading to California and other battlegrounds for the nomination.

Iowa is first. They've gotten to know the candidates the best; Over a third of Iowans have shook hands with at least one candidate. People view Iowa and New Hampshire the testing grounds for candidates. Their outcomes largely decide the vote for the people on the fence.

Ah, Iowa's flat and everyone speaks the same language. It makes it easier for the poll takers and media.
