I have been watching the devistating effects of NAFTA in America, Mexico and Canada for the past 12 years. It has created huge profits for corporations as it pushed people into poverty from all three countries. Yet, our candidates stand at their platforms during debates and tell people NAFTA works. In your opinion, do we really need to sacrifice a few generations or more or can trade policies be fixed to benefit all? Which candidates in both parties have the best solutions?

Canadian citizens, and especially Mexican citizens, DO NOT benfit from NAFTA. The long-term, low-intensity guerilla war being fought in the Mexican state of Chiapis was launched as a direct response to NAFTA. NAFTA has thrown tens of millions of Mexican workers into poverty and is the main cause behind the explosion of illegal immigration to this country.

At the same time, NAFTA ruined the economy in much of the U.S. That was the point--drive down wages and remove the environmental regulations. It is all part of a grab as much as you can now policy being aggressively pursued by the Corporate Elite. The eventual goal is a drastic reduction in world population, and much tighter, slave-like control over the traumitized masses left after the environmental collapse caused by global warming.

NAFTA is the first link of the chain to form the North American Union.

The US dollar is falling so fast right now that by the time it stops, it will be worth about as much as the Mexican Peso.

At that point, the US govt. will be broke, the corporations will own a lot of the debt and the formation of the NAU will be a foregone conclusion.

It is healthy for American corporations, it's just not healthy for American people. Of course, we don't matter anyway. Vote for Ron Paul if Nafta bothers you.
