Do you think it is proper for the government to dictate to a church which weddings they may legally perform? Some churches have decided that until same-sex partners can have a civil wedding ceremony in the church, they will not hold any wedding ceremonies at all. http://www.planetout.com/news/article.html?2007/12/14/1

I have a friend who was arrested for a petty crime but it was a felony, even the cops were annoyed, but they did have to book him. It's been 4 months since his arrest, but he has not heard anything. Is it possible that one can be arrested for a felony, but not ever be charged or convicted. How does this work? I know the state of CA has 3 years to charge you. But they did confiscate evidence. Anyone with experience with such things , i would like to know your thoughts.

the uranium needed to run their power plant?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071217/ap_on_re_mi_ea/russia_iran

"But Iran said it would continue its enrichment activities at a separate facility, in the central city of Natanz, to provide fuel for another nuclear reactor."

Couldn't Russia just provide uranium for hat plant as well?

Why do they still want that technology?

"If that's the case — if the Russians are willing to do that, which I support — then the Iranians do not need to learn how to enrich," Bush said in Fredricksburg, Va. "If the Iranians accept that uranium for civilian nuclear power, then there's no need for them to learn how to enrich."

Bush also reiterated his view that "Iran's a danger to peace," despite a recent U.S. intelligence estimate that found Iran halted a nuclear weapons program in 2003.

"My attitude hasn't changed toward Iran," he said. "If somebody had a weapons program, what's to say they couldn't start it up tomorrow?"

Your thoughts...

If you were convicted of crimes against a child(ren) and were granted an appeal based on a technicality, would you go back the second time to prove your innocence, or would you never go back for your second trial? If not, why? How would that make you feel about someone you know who did not go back to prove their innocence?

First of all, yes i know i'm stupid for even doing it, but i never thought in a thousand years she would do something like this.
she went through a drive thru pharmacy, and claimed she was someone else and took their narcotics. she even called them in to be filled. we know this person (who she took the pills from) and that is how i found out that she did this.
the person that owns the rx calle the cops and filled out a police report. to throw a wrench into it, i used to buy a few here and there from this person. she said if the police question her she will remain silent, but i know my friend that took the rx will try to bring us both down. if it comes to that, and i stay silent and the rx owner stays silent, with no physical evidence (i don't have any pills on me, in my apt or in my system), could i still be charged?

If as some suggest we do away with pestidides, fertilizers(chemical),and corporate farms in an effort to reduce emissions related to green house gasses, how will we replace the food lost to insects, disease, and lowered production?
And,how will we force the American consumer to pay more for a limited food supply, when we already hear complaints about current food prices?

One of the Ford Foundation's most notable disbursements was its 1968 "seed grant" to create the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), an open borders group that is now the most influential Hispanic advocacy organization in the United States. Between 1970 and 2005, Ford gave more than $25 million to MALDEF; nearly half of that amount ($11,285,000) was donated between 2000 and 2004. The Ford Foundation is also a longtime supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union, as evidenced by its $7 million grant to the ACLU in 1999. "The ACLU has no better partner and friend than the Ford Foundation," said the ACLU's then-Executive Director Ira Glasser. "It is fitting that the largest single gift … ever to the ACLU, should come from Ford."http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/funderProfile.asp?fndid=5176

I have a letter saying my license is going to be suspended for 90 days because of 5 moving violations. 2 speeding tickets I pleaded guilty two one was for 11 over on the highway while following an undercover patrol. The 3 seperate tickets were for hit and run careless and illegal use of shoulder. The accident was not entirely my fault and the state patrol was a total ass. The judge gave me 6months probation and everything off my record. I got a speeding ticket during that period so now I'm screwed.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to stop my license from being suspended?

What on earth is our world coming to? All of these news stories I've heard about the zero tolerance policy just show how completely insane we have become. I am a 16-year-old high school student, and of course I do not condone kids bringing weapons and drugs to school. Anyone who does that should be expelled. But seriously, a 10-year-old girl was arrested for bringing scissors to school! Another kid was expelled because he had been using a pocket knife outside of school and forgot to take it out of his pocket. Even kids who make honest mistakes like that and tell a school administrator right away after they realize they have a "weapon", they still get expelled. I cannot believe that people are so insane that they expel innocent people and ruin their lives because they simply did not remember that they had a "weapon". Does anyone else agree that we have gone completely out of our minds?
