Im trying for HM (Hospital Corpsman) after bootcamp and we head of to A school what happens if you fail A school do you get rolled back or what? Not that Im saying im going to fail just curious. Another question will they automatically put me in FMSS school or will i have to request it because I want to join the Marines in the field. Thanks in advance for any help.

HM A school is self paced now. you will only have so much time before they decide to take measures. that could be anything from giving you more time to involuntarily sending you undesignated, to allowing you the opportunity to choose a new rating.
Going Green Side will depend on how well you do in A school. you may to hit the Fleet first before you can attend FMSS, however.

Most Schools teach in short blocks of instruction.
Then you are tested over the material in that short block.
Generally depending on the length of the tech school, you are allowed to fail several blocks and get rolled back.
But it all depends on just how badly you failed, how hard they think you are trying, and when you fail.
My Tech School was 6 months long, you were allowed three failures during that six months, but you could not fail the same block twice.
A block is generally one weeks worth of class, sometimes it is two weeks worth.
They can remove you from the school and reclass you after one failure, if they want to.
But that generally only done, if you fail the first test or fail a test badly, where they determine, you just aren't trying or don't have a clue.

if you can't pass a school, they either send you out undesignated or you could possibly pick another rate. but you have to fail really good for that. they usually give you a couple times to pass. good news, you don't have to redo boot.

Not sure about Corpsman school, but AT if you failed a test you got to retake it twice if you failed twice they would redesignate you.

yes if you fail they will probably send you to the fleet undesignated meaning you will work in deck as a boatswain's mate.
