Many framers entered this convention with very firm beliefs on how they felt a new constitution and thus government should be constructed. Did the debates that took place in the convention ever change any of these people's minds from their original plans? Also, do you have any examples of such an occurance. They all seemed really stead fast in their original beliefs to me

only 50 years ago blacks still had no rights, they were beaten, getting hosed down by whites until 1964. Ofcourse in the 40s,50s,60s treatment towards blacks wasn't as bad as in earlier times but still it' only 50 years ago. And today there is still discrimination in some way towards minority groups. But here we are in 2007 and we have a BLACK man running for president. BLACK running to be in charge of all races in America. Interesting how a turn of events happen in such a little time period. What you think? 1960= blacks no rights, 2007 Black man running for president.

Honestly, I NEVER thought a black man would be able to run for president.

Do you Think the 1st black man OBAMA will be in the white house in 2008?

I hear statements such as liberal pukes, liberal idiots and many more I cannot repeat .
I do not understand why this is considering Liberals only want the respecatble government our founding fathers fought so hard for.
the Constitution, Human rights, and a peaceful foreign policy
what makes someone who loves there country and follows the law of the Constitution a Liberal Puke ?
I mean these words sound like people listen to Bill o Reily for a good brainwash every day.

Thanks!

I mean living on the ship the whole time. I was in a helicopter squadron, I went on two wespac cruises, that was tough enough living on an aircraft carrier those two times. I think if I had to live on board all my four years, I would have gone AWOL!

Most people don't care about there fellow man . So much time is spent in this country via the news , entertainment etc. that make people live in another reality .

Say for example a man is lying in the street with a knife wound , well why would anyone stop ? What obligation do they have ? Sure there is a moral obligation but American morals by and large - are disappearing by the day ! Since there is no moral obligation and no legal one - Why not just walk on by ?

Also because of this dissociation from reality is how we still have a war still going on , corruption etc. etc.

Anyone agree ?

My whole life is cluttered. I have papers, bills, old letters, stationary, post cards, unused paper, programs from events, good magazines I can't part with, so much paper, I even keep name place cards from important events. Of course I don't keep scrap books just loads of laundry baskets to keep everything in. Now my house is full of laundry baskets. I am so tired of going through one by one and I don't know what to keep and what to discard. I mean I can't turn into a museum and my house isnt big enough. What do I do? Any advice? I can not afford an expert either to come in and do it for me.

To make the long story short, I have a problem in my life and it is a problem that effects my whole life and the future. Basically, I have moved to this country 11 years ago and still don't have residency or any kind of status in the US. I am working with all these lawyers but I am not getting anywhere. I am in college right now and have to pay out of state tuition because I am not a resident and I can't work and can't drive a car because I need a visa to do that and I have been waiting for 11 years already. I feel depressed because I am forced to live with my parents and can't go out because I don't have a way to get anywhere. I feel like I will never have freedom. Even if I get a college degree, I won't be able to work because I don't have any status. I remember talking to my lawyer and he said that he really urges me to get married. He told me that that was my best option. Do you have any good advice for me? I can't go back because I came here when i was just a baby.
