Why? It can be about anything- the war in Iraq, economy, immigration policies, education system, etc. ALSO, do you feel that the US is losing its status in the world as a political and economic superpower? Does this have to do with American youth today (in terms of math and science)? (Im doing this as a personal study, not educational).

Like a great many Americans I took a greater interest in politics after the events of 911. Prior to that time I voted Republican largely because of my views on abortion,however after 911 I really started to question many of the issues that guide the conservative movement in this country.Folks we have been had !! I am now totally convinced that we have been brainwashed (since the Reagan campaign) and used. The true goal of the Republicans in power is the destruction of the middle class.They have used flim flam men like Limbaugh and Hannity to confuse middle class Americans into thinking that what is good for the wealthy is good for them.I like many others were sucked in on one or more of their arguments.as late as 2004 I was still being a chump and voting republican although I was starting to question more.There isn't space in this forum to list all the innacuracies that being pushed on us . I just ask this question to find out are there others who started to look closer then and change

The seller has been arrested by the Police for taking money from a number of people and not sending the respective items. They have been interviewed and bailed on four occasions. They have however not yet charged the individual as they state that the seller has refused to tell them anything, and that the Crown Prosecutor states that there is insufficient evidence at this stage. Surely if this person was going to be charged they would have been so already. All I want is my money back, and if this seller walks I will not get anything ! Does anyone have any experience in this field or indeed advice ? Thanks !

For example, what if something were to happen at work or outside of work and you had to go to the PD/SD and they had to tell you that the person who committed the crime against you was a sex offender, and you had no previous knowledge of this fact? This was the "best" example I could come up with.

We live in a nice quite middleclass neighborhood & a intruder broke into my neighbor's house & their son was home alone & asleep in his bedroom .The guy must have woke him & he got out of bed w/baseball bat & beat him & his friend one of them is in I C U at the hospital & the other is just in the hospital being treated.From what i have heard he busted one of their heads in a real bad way and mess up the others shoulder real bad with the bat--then he put large cable ties on their hands & cut all their afro hair off b4 calling the cops.He is at the station & has been down there since it happen abot 11am this morning.He usually at church w/family at this time every sunday but he had to work late & they let him sleep in (he got hm @4am )but i'm worried he may everything he has worked so hard to finish college this spring & is going into the Naval academy.He may have been better off just to have shot them.

Universal Health Care provides coverage for every citizen.
Doctors are guaranteed payment.
Doctors can receive merit pay if they get their patients to lose weight, quit smoking, lower their cholesterol, etc.
There would be no HMOs to DENY LIFESAVING procedures.
There would be no HMOs to DENY Coverage to those with preexisting medical conditions.
There would be no more co-pays for doctors visits or prescription drugs.
We could replace Medicaid and Medicare which cost over $300 Billion per year. Combine that with the $92 Billion we can save by ending Corporate Welfare and we could provide every American with Health Care and Dental Care.
If you have money and want to opt out and buy your own insurance, you can do that too!
There are currently 47 million Americans without Health insurance.
The United States spends more on Health Care than countries that have Universal Health Care and those countries cover EVERY citizen.

Where's the down-side to Universal Healthcare?

A student who I know is not a supporter of my school, but he is still running to be a student leader (mainly for popularity etc).

I know that he wouldn't do a good job of it, seeing as he does not support the school in the first place.

My principal (who makes the final decision of this) isn't aware of this, and I feel that I should inform him of this, but I am not sure how he will react to the situation, and I would prefer to stay anonymous as I don't want any fingers pointed at me. I would prefer not to inform him through writing as this can be shown to numerous people, and also not revealing any identity in the letter may reduce the its valued importance. How should I handle the situation?

I had a misdemeanor sealed Jan. 2007. After checking background check sites shortly after the sealing, I still saw the dismissed misdemeanor. Since the courts update the databases quartly, I decided to wait. Well, I check a few of the big background check companies, Intellus, ussearch.com, and also the courts and it doesn't show up.

I also checked choicepoint, the largest repisotory of public information, and it doesn't show up as well.

Should I safely assume that employers will not have access to this record?

Do cops usually give a warning, or bust you on a first offense?

People wake up dont you realize when 2 different cultures come together conflict always happens. As soon as problems start, and they will we are already witnessing them, a conflict will happen. Its human nature just look at the former Yugoslavia. Im not saying vote for the BNP, but just never vote for Labour.
