A student who said she was told she wouldn't get her diploma unless she apologized for a commencement speech in which she mentioned Jesus has filed a lawsuit alleging her free speech rights were violated.

Her rights were violated. It seems now days Jesus isn't allowed anywhere.

She certainly has a right to proclaim her love for Jesus Christ. Everyone in the audience was free to accept or reject her advice. Apparently she spoke within the time limit.

If the school allowed her to graduate, I am not sure how much she was injured. A diploma is just a fancy piece of paper and can be counterfeited. A prospective employer or college would check with the school to verify her graduation. If the school authorities refuse to provide that information to them to punish her than she has a legal grievance.

Another case of political correctness run amok.

Wow! you in elementary terms have not have been given any thought how the form works. there is not any violation of the liberty of religion in that billboard, till it incredibly is funded by way of public money or on public land. i'm an atheist. I see examples of religion being rammed down our throats on a daily basis, yet I have not have been given any objection to religious human beings expressing their comments - as loony as they're.
