what are the political and military situations and issues in America around 2001?
and is there any connections between the situation at that time with the movie "pearl harbor"??
Also, is there any connections between the situation at that time with the US-as-victim movies ?

thank you~~

In the 50's ( half a century ago) we started doing experiments with rats in a cage

Put to many in and they start eating each other - No matter the food and water supply - the population density per square foot reaches X and disaster follows

So they did experiments with humans - No no one ate each other - but temper flared fist fights and so on happened

Too many people per square mile = anger violence and so forth

Ok fair enough - Why is it then that we act all surprised when it happens ?

Population density in cities jails and so on go up and so does violence - It is not the sole cause - no not at all but it is a known cause and a big one -

A good analogy is we know smoking causes cancer - no surprise - so no one acts surprised when a smoker gets cancer it is at least openly talked about

But when over crowded humans react as we know they will we ignore it and make the same error over and over

Why?

Some politicians are promoting an increase in our consumption taxes as a means of doing away with the tax code. Getting rid of the IRS would save America $300B a year according to some estimates.

This is a serious question. Please provide some thoughtful answers. Should the IRS be abolished?

If Texas, the age of consent is 17, only if the actor is no more than 3 years older.

Question: Can the parents of a (then) 17 year old girl, file statutory rape charges against a male who was 4 years older than her, after that girl has turned 18? Could they do anything about previous sexual involvment if she is now of legal age (even if they never decided to do anything about it before, except keep them apart) ...

Additional Details: If they had to have proof, they have a journal of hers that states that she had slept with this guy. Could they use this against the male to get him in trouble if the girl is now 18?

He was aware of the consent age being 17, but was unaware of the 3 year rule. Worried that they might not like him hanging out with her, even if she is of age now. Could he get in trouble for earlier involvement if they wanted?

I was active for four and a half years, then Reserves for four years, and now I'm going active (into a different branch, losing rank btw). I'm wondering if all my previous time will count towards my retirement and if my previous time will count as far as pay goes (even though I'm taking a loss in grade, do I still get eight years time in service on the pay chart). Thank you!

I live in the UK, and I'm interested to know what the general feeling is amongst the public in America. Would you prefer Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama? What do you make of the fact that two of the front-runners are a woman and a black man? Do you think this is a sign of a new, more liberal culture, or simply good PR? What do you think the Democrats' chances are of winning a general election? Share your views.

I'm not expressing any personal opinions, or attempting to start any arguments, I'm just a curious Brit!

If you witness a theft or a murder or any kind of crime, what are the laws in the United States regarding your LEGAL obligation to report it.

Links to laws would be appreciated.

Remember, this is completely separate from the moral obligation, I am NOT asking about the MORAL obligation.

I'm very interested in becoming a fighter pilot within the Air force. I know i need a 4 year college degree and some years of training but am unsure on whether it states you have to be a US citizen to join or if you can be a Legal Permenent Resident and still join.
I'm wondering about this because I also read somewhere that the age requirement is 28 and a half and im thinking that by the time i attend 4 years of college, go through the naturlization process to become a citizen and then have the flight training itself, im going to be clocking on a bit.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank ya!

We are in Iraq to bring freedom to the Iraqi people- and if you oppose the war-then you must hate freedom.
WHY do critics of the war hate freedom?

Where I live it is -17°C / 0°F.
I saw this poor dog in a dog kennel on the back of the bed of the truck.A German Shepard I think.
On top of this bad situation the truck traveling at least 100km/ 63mph.
I memorized the plate number, so I could report it as soon as i got home.
When I got home and told my boyfriend said that I was totally overreacting and that the dog is fine.
would a dog survive that temp outside of a truck?
Or should I report this stupid person to police.

I feel so bad that I did not do more while I was driving behind the truck.
I know if it were me in that dog place, I WOULD BE DEAD.
