Yes there is a connection.

After Sept 11, 2001 when the New York World Trade Center was hit by planes... America was attacked by Afghanistan's B. Laden.. Bush needed to rally public support for invading Iraq that had nothing to do with that attack.

So he needed Americans to feel victimized... movies like Pearl Harbor at the time were used to manipulate this goal.
