He's a classical Isolationist who doesn't value the great things the NATO alliance does for the world and America. He thinks America can do it alone and all will be well. That kind of thinking lead to the rise of Hitler.
There's more than ever a global economy and a global security situation, I isolationism denies and or ignores all those realities.
Ron Paul doesn't have a clue about International diplomacy and the real world. His stand on the war makes many feel sympathetic towards him but truth is he just doesn't have a clue and his policies would hurt American security and stability around the world

The whole point of NATO was defense against a Soviet attack on Western Europe. The threat is gone.

All we're doing now is wasting billions of dollars each year with these bases all over Europe. How would you feel about all those bases if you were Russia?

Bring the troops home. The threat is gone. We could end our national debt if we ended these pointless military deployments.

Because NATO has lost its value when the cold war ended and is a huge drain on troops and money.

I am sorry to say that Ron Paul isn't all there. He is a medical doctor and should have stayed with his profession. He certainly isn't a good politician or diplomat. He would do away with the world if he could.....but leave Texas alone.

He believes that the US is tied into too many organizations that tend to dictate our fate in the world. He believes that the US needs to have a period of self reflection and pull out of all the international arenas that entangle us. I feel he is right in saying that we have a lot of work to do right here at home.
